The Monday Night RAW RATINGS BREAKDOWN is in, thank you to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter...

Marc Middleton from LordsofPain.net transcribes:
In the segment breakdown, the show opened with a strong 3.36 rating, likely interest from the TLC pay-per-view.

3.36 to start is good, especially going head-to-head with the start of Monday Night Football

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett lost 721,000 viewers but Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox gained 277,000 viewers.

OUCH. Can we say "Checkmate" on Randy Orton as a face? It's no wonder that Smackdown's houseshow business is terrible. Orton just isn't a draw, especially as a babyface. TURN HIM HEEL!

Orton vs. Wade Barrett was actually a decent match... Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox was NOT... Amazing what draws viewers...

Jinder Mahal vs. Sheamus lost 247,000 viewers and the John Cena promo that featured Kane and Mark Henry gained 428,000 viewers with a 3.18 quarter rating.

I expect worse with Mahal/Sheamus. Looks like Kane is a good draw upon being rebooted with the long hair and mask.

Epico & Primo vs. The Usos and Cody Rhodes vs. Santino Marella lost 719,000 viewers. Backstage segments with John Laurinaitis and The Bella Twins, Hornswoggle and a Big Show interview lost 56,000 viewers.

OUCH... To Usos and Epico/Primo's credit, they aren't well known by fans. Someone whom the WWE has been given lots of TV time by the WWE, Santino Marella, isn't much of a draw. Then again, he mostly loses in the end... Cody Rhodes probably needs to ramp up his personality and heel tactics, at least in front of the RAW audience. I don't think RAW viewers know him too well yet.

In what is a very bad sign, the overrun for the CM Punk, Daniel Bryan & Zack Ryder vs. Alberto Del Rio, The Miz & Dolph Ziggler match gained only 59,000 viewers. This is almost impossible as people tune into USA to see the next TV show. This means wrestling fans were tuning out in large numbers. Fans tuned out mostly during the first part of the match but viewership picked up some at 11pm.

The RAW six-man main event did a 2.67 rating, which might be the lowest rated RAW main event of this year.

To be fair, the 49ers vs. Steelers game gained 7 million viewers this week, almost doubling last week's audience. The fact that the opening segment drew strong tells me that fans were at least curious to see the new champions. 1 week does not make a trend!

Always room for improvement...
