--------------------

The "Excellence in Column Writing" has returned! Sorry for the absence yesterday. For one, it was Elvis's Birthday, but for two, I had some family business to tend to. That, and I'm just too good enough to give you my thoughts on TNA Genesis... Genesis, FORBIDDEN!

Seriously, with Monday Night RAW, where do I begin?

I'll start with Hall of Fame inductions... I'm fine with Edge. His neck injury has clearly retired him and he's worthy of the Hall of Fame for his long career of many championships (albeit too many World Titles in 5 years). Strike when the iron is hot and when Edge and the WWE are on good terms.

The second Hall of Fame induction is quite controversial, however... The Four Horsemen is induction #2 and what a fascinating choice by the WWE. For one, Ric Flair will now be in the WWE Hall of Fame TWICE... That amazes me, as 3 out of 4 of the solo Beatles (not Ringo) are in the Hall of Fame twice. Ric Flair is one of the all time greats and it should be an honor for him to get inducted twice. Will TNA lend him out?

But the bigger controversy is that it appears that it's the Ric Flair/Tully Blanchard/Arn Anderson/Barry Windham version of the Four Horsemen. While that is my favorite Horsemen, and quite frankly, I'm sad that Arn/Tully/Barry bolted to the WWF for 1989 to not continue this awesome group. But to deny Ole Anderson recognition for this induction would be wrong. I hope that the WWE, Ole, and the other Four Horsemen get on good terms for 1 night because Ole was a founding member of the Horsemen.

Hopefully, the induction of the Four Horsemen shows everybody how great this group was and why the WWE is missing an opportunity make crazy money with a NEW Four Horsemen group with, say for example, Miz/Alberto Del Rio/Dolph Ziggler/Triple H. In fact, I'd argue that Evolution during 2002-2005 should have been called the Four Horsemen.

I did like how they pushed Kane as a monster tonight, although the multiple backstage segments were a bit much. Either way, push Kane like a monster who can kick anybody's ass because he's HUGE and BECAUSE HE CAN. Just make him a modern day bully instead of the fire stupidity we saw last week coming through the ring. I was fine with it, although Zack Ryder should consult the IWC on how to change a tire with more speed...

What's sad, however, is that the WWE has pushed Kane vs. John Cena to the main event and is keeping CM Punk's angles earlier in the card. The past 2 weeks, I believe, the WWE Champion has been the starting segment of the 2nd hour. In other words, the WWE is giving Punk the "Miz treatment". After a while with the Miz as WWE champion to end 2010 and to start 2011, the WWE kept the Miz as far away from the main event as they could. I'm beginning to sense that the WWE live crowds get this too, as they are not as energetic for cheering Punk on and John Laurinaitis isn't getting the heat that the WWE probably hoped he would. NOW, if they would have pushed Punk vs. Laurinaitis AFTER Money in the Bank Pay Per View, big business could have happened... Instead, Punk is creative damaged goods...

Speaking of creative damaged goods, what the hell is the WWE doing with Brodus Clay? "Funk-asaurus"? What the hell? After weeks of hyping him as a badass, we get this? OK, I'm going to hold off because I hammered Brodus for getting pushed as a "hoss" that I have to accept this change in direction... By the way, his red tights made Brodus look like Zangief from Street Fighter 2. If Brodus does a spinning piledriver, I'll mark out... I'll have patience on Brodus and let the rest of the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) do the bashing instead...

Miz and R-Truth stuff was OK for the night... Seems like R-Truth has figured out how to play the crowd on the mic, and he should thank the Miz for his influence. I hope the two can pull off a strong blow-off match, as both guys have WWE careers where I cannot suggest a match of theirs that you MUST SEE.

LAST WORD: Not a bad RAW. After the utter chaos of last week's RAW, it was good to see some stability with the storylines and just letting Kane be a badass. I'll go B+ and I expect that the BCS Championship game will cause a 3.0 rating.

So just chill... Till the next episode...
