-------------------- Ah yes, the week is over... I think I'm going to buy some stock in the holding company that owns Vaseline to allow things to go in easier... Royal Rumble is HERE, as we're just 2 days away from the #2 WWE Pay Per View of the year. I've been trying to get "the band" back together to see who all wants to enjoy some good ol' Pay Per View wrasslin', but it's always hard these days with all of my old friends from the late 1990's not as excited to be wrestling fans... For today's Excellence in Column Writing, I will perform my Pay Per View predictions with the WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN/WHAT WILL HAPPEN format, which appears to be a big hit with many of my loyal readers. I am aim to please with them, so thus, I'll write about the Royal Rumble in that successful format. Mr. Tito's PHAT Royal Rumble 2012 PredictionsNOTE: If Smackdown adds a match, as it's presently airing as I write this, please excuse the omission of that match.John Cena vs. Kane Tough break for Kane, as he is facing someone who has to look strong heading into Wrestlemania 28 against a guy called "The Rock". I think Kane will put on a good match with Cena and physically dominate much of the match, but then Cena will "hulk up" and win the match with an Attitude Adjustment FU Drop finisher. Then, the WWE commentators will be AMAZED on RAW that John Cena found the will to overcome the physical beast known as Kane and Attitude Adjust such a hoss of a wrestler. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN/WHAT WILL HAPPEN: No question in my mind, John Cena is winning this match CLEAN. Daniel Bryan(c) vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show in a Cage Match Don't you just love this Smackdown feud? At least we have continuity here with the participants in the TLC Pay Per View from last month. Physically, I find it hard to believe that Daniel Bryan could even hurt Big Show, let alone make a dent in Mark Henry. Both guys are too strong for a 200 pound guy to overcome, especially in a cage. WWE will have to get creative for me to believe that Bryan should survive this kind of match, and my guess is that Big Show and Mark Henry will hurt each other to make it look like Bryan can overcome them. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: Daniel Bryan retains. I like the better workrate that I can get out of Bryan for Wrestlemania 28 in a Championship match, while I would also book Mark Henry vs. Big Show at Wrestlemania 28 as well. WHAT WILL HAPPEN: WWE is pretty loyal to the Big Show and for him to quickly lose the opportunity to be World Champion at TLC tells me that he's getting payback later. I predict that the Big Show wins this match and either loses the belt back to Bryan at Elimination Chamber or actually wrestles Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 28 for the World Title. CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler Monday Night RAW has biased my thinking on this match. Normally, I would argue that CM Punk would win this match because of how weak he's looked for 4 straight weeks in matches against Ziggler. But this "Job Evaluation" tells me that Ziggler is going over due to Laurinaitis interference of some kind. However, Laurinaitis could just be a shitty referee and a failed attempt to screw Cena could get him fired on Monday as COO Triple H returns on his white horse to evaluate Laurinaitis. Typically, the WWE tries to make the champ look weak before a Pay Per View, so... WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: John Laurinaitis proves to be a shitty referee and allows Chris Jericho to attack CM Punk to cost him the WWE Title. Then, at Elimination Chamber, John Cena defeats Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Title to face the Rock at Wrestlemania for the WWE Title. WHAT WILL HAPPEN: CM Punk wins due to a failed attempt at cheating for Ziggler. He's lost repeatedly heading into Royal Rumble and Punk will thus be rewarded with a win at Royal Rumble. Jericho may attack him AFTER the match. ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH The grand-daddy of them all until stupid Elimination Chamber came along to determine the OTHER World Title contender to water it down. 30 man over-the-top rope with the countdown and then the entrances to always make it exciting. Hopefully, we get a few awesome surprises like a Psycho Sid or some other wrestler on the free agent market to stir things up. WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: IF YOU SMELL... The absolute best idea would be to sneak the Rock into the arena and have him win the Rumble. Making Rock vs. Cena for the WWE Title would boost the interest in this match, especially if the Rock were to win it... WHAT WILL HAPPEN: WWE is crazy high on Randy Orton winning this thing, just as they were very high on Alberto Del Rio winning the WWE Title at SummerSlam. Vince does not change plans on his favorites and I suspect that Randy Orton will go on to Wrestlemania 28 to defeat the Big Show or Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Title. I suspect that Bryan or the Big Show will turn heel beforehand, too... There you have it... My SHOULD/WILL HAPPEN Predictions for Royal Rumble 2012. So just chill... Till the next episode.
