-------------------- Hey, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 180 points tonight... 2012 will be a great year, right? I think for the first few months, maybe... The United States has so much freshly printed money circulating in the banking system that it's bound to cause some with interest rates this low. However, a good and "thriving" economy wouldn't have the need to enable the Federal Reserve to keep interest rates offered to banks at a 0 to 0.25% "target range" and to announce keeping rates that low through 2013. Where I continue to watch is the "shoe to fall" in Europe and the aftermath of a country like Italy or Spain defaulting on its debt. However, it could be that a privately owned European bank HEAVILY invested in Europe's debt that that causes the deadly chain reaction. From there, "Too Big to Fail" banks here in the United States who are also heavily invested in Eupean Debt or European banks will feel the burn! See how that works? And here we are with the Presidential Election where the Economy is front and center. Barack Obama will hope that his government spending, temporary tax cuts, and assistance from the Federal Reserve will show signs of a growing U.S. Economy but Europe might take it down anyway. In the meantime, you could make quick buck in the stock market if something stable is trading at a 52 week low and rides this recent upswing... Just know what you're buying... I'm watching the Unemployment situation closely... We're at 8.6% and I wouldn't doubt that slight improvements in Jobless Claim numbers will get us down to 8.5 or 8.4% with maybe around 150,000 jobs added. We'll see... So just chill...
