It's WEDNESDAY and as it used to be on NBC at 8:00pm during the 1980's and early 1990's, it's the Unsolved Mysteries FIX. Today, with the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday coming up, one of the more interesting Unsolved Mysteries was the one that discussed King's unfortunate assassination on April 4th, 1968.

This episode segment of Unsolved Mysteries centers around the possible conspiracy theory surrounding MLK's assassination and how James Earl Ray may not have acted alone or acted at all. Granted, the 3 assassinations of the 1960's, John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr. are all surrounded in controversy and many are looking for more reasons why these big names were shot.

In my opinion, it would be incredibly hard to pull off a conspiracy of that nature. Eventually, SOMEONE "in the know" will squeal or find a way for the truth to be revealed. Sure, I enjoy a good conspiracy theory program on JFK, RFK, and MLK, there is a lacking of full facts of key witnesses to point to others collectively joining in on a conspiracy. 50+ years now on each of the incidents and nobody has squealed yet?

I'm not a hardcore subscriber in the conspiracy theories, as I would want to see more tangible evidence to even make that bold conclusion.

But, these Unsolved Mysteries were fascinating in their production and things could be made better if James Earl Ray was more forthcoming. He's not, so thus one has to assume he's the lone gunman for the moment.

Either way, a great leader was killed in 1968 and it's a shame he couldn't do more. There's good reason why he's a private citizen that has his own holiday.
