Welcome everyone to the Smackdown Report!

My name is Uncle Leo and I'm here to deliver you your Smackdown report each and every week here on Lords of Pain!

It’s been almost a month since I’ve been here, writing about Smackdown. I have to apologize for my absence. Real life started interfering, but I’m back now that the hellacious October has come and gone. I’ll have some thoughts on Seth Rollins at the bottom of this Smackdown Report, if you’re interested. It’s Thursday night, which means it’s time for some Smackdown action! Let’s start smacking…

The Smackdown Report!
November 5th, 2015

Still to come tonight Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match between The Wyatt Family and Prime Time Players / Lucha Dragons
Also still to come tonight Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens

Zeb Colter & Alberto Del Rio
Colter asks us how he and Alberto Del Rrrrrrio can share the same stage together. It’s because of MexAmerica, of course! MexAmerica is a state of mind that says that you must cast aside all your differences because the one thing that’s not allowed in MexAmerica is hate. Haters are not allowed in MexAmerica.

Thoughts: I’m not really sure how this is a heel gimmick. I don’t mind the pairing of Colter and ADR because it lets someone speak for the man that’s been dubbed the Black Hole of Charisma. I actually like this pairing come to think of it. I think this is a great way to make ADR the Hispanic Megastar of the WWE, but also a way to cut through all of the illegal immigrant hate that’s occurred since the topic heated up in the Presidential race. I think MexAmerica can actually get over with the WWE Universe, but it seems like the WWE dubbed a lot of boos while Colter was speaking.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Neville
Before the commercial break, things were pretty even between these two wrestlers. Right after ADR hits a backbreaker from outta nowhere, we head to commercial. When we come back, we see the all too familiar heel in control. Del Rio misses a kick to the head and Neville hits an amazing ‘rana for only a two count. Del Rio has Neville in corner and he hits a double stomp for the victory.

Winner via Pinfall: Del Rio

After the match, Del Rio attacks Neville until Jack Swagger comes out to stop him. They stare each other down before ADR backs off.

Thoughts: If Del Rio and Colter were Faces, then I think this has more potential to get over. But I guess they’re going to go through with the Heel act since now Swagger is getting involved.

The Usos vs. The Ascension
Making their return to Smackdown are The Usos! The first half of this match had Jimmy Uso playing the face in peril, until Jey got tagged in and cleaned house. Jey was attacked by Konnor who wasn’t the legal man. Jimmy came in and hit a superkick. Both Jimmy and Jey then hit a double superkick to Konnor. Then they hit another superkick to Viktor. Jey gets to the top of the turnbuckle and hits a flying splash for the victory.

Winners via Pinfall: The Usos

Thoughts: Welcome back, Usos! Let’s get this tag team division even hotter!

Recap Video of the in-ring segment that featured The Wyatt Family from RAW. It was pretty kick ass and you should definitely watch it if you get a chance...or just watch it on RAW when they undoubtedly will play it again.

Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match: The Wyatt Family vs. The Prime Time Players & The Lucha Dragons
Young & O’Neil work well together against Harper, but a big boot takes Young down. The Wyatt Family take turns tagging in and out, but they’re all really targeting poor Young. Strowman, now the legal man, has him in that submission bear hug hold. Young is passed out on the outside and gets counted out.

Darren Young has been eliminated.

Back from commercial, The Wyatt Family start dismantling O’Neil. One by one they all come in and wear the big guy down. O’Neil gets a second to get away from Wyatt and crawls to Sin Cara to tag him in. Cara is now the legal man with Harper. Cara was starting to really get some momentum, but gets clobbered with a huge clothesline and gets pinned.

Sin Cara has been eliminated.

Kalisto is now in and starts taking it to Harper. Harper hits an unbelievably powerful suplex to Kalisto. It’s like he did it to a little kid. Rowan hits a backbreaker on Kalisto. Kalisto tries crawling to O’Neil, but Harper and Strowman take O’Neil out. Kalisto starts getting the best of Harper and Wyatt, but Rowan is the legal man and takes Kalisto down. Rowan hits a Full Nelson Slam and pins Kalisto.

Kalisto has been eliminated.

O’Neil stares down all four of his opponents. O’Neil gives it his all and takes it to the four members of The Wyatt Family. He almost eliminated Harper, but the Family interferes. Stowman now rips Titus apart with the submission move. Bray Wyatt is now the legal man and hits the Sister Abigail for the win.

Titus O’Neil has been eliminated.

It’s a clean sweep.

Winners & Sole Survivors: Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, & Braun Strowman

Thoughts: A dominating victory, but with only one more week of WWE TV left, what will be done with The Wyatt Family and the Brothers of Destruction?

Backstage interview with Dean Ambrose
Renee is backstage with Dean Ambrose for an interview. Ambrose says he woke up this morning, went outside, did some meditation, and breathed in some Colorado air. He says that he took a look into the future and that the future was bright. Owens crashes the party and asks Ambrose what world he lives in. Owens says that Ambrose wouldn’t know anything about being a champion...which is actually false because Ambrose did hold the US Title back when he was with The Shield. Ambrose responds by reminding Owens that he beat him on RAW. Owens says there’s a difference between a 10 man match and a one-on-one match. Looking forward to their match later tonight.

Ryback vs. King Barrett
Barrett goes on the attack early on and remains in control for 95% of the match. Ryback lifts Barrett up and hits a Shellshock from outta nowhere and pins Barrett, ending the very short match.

Winner via Pinfall: Ryback

Backstage interview with Team BAD
We find out that Natalya has challenged the “leader” of Team BAD. Both Naomi and Sasha Banks believe they know who the leader is. I’m sensing a little bit of possible tension between these ladies. Oh, and Tamina was there being all quiet. Why is she apart of Team BAD? Anyways...we’ll find out who this leader is!

Natalya vs. Tamina
Sasha and Naomi are on the ring apron, arguing about who the leader is. Tamina jumps up and stops them both and says she’s getting into the ring. Sasha and Naomi start smiling and hop off the ring apron. Tamina starts things off in control, even delivering a superkick. Naomi gets involved when the referee didn’t look, but Natalya kicks out after Tamina tried pinning her. Tamina tries attacking Natalya, but she hits a nice twirling clothesline. After Sasha provides a distraction, Tamina hits a Samoan Drop. Natalya counters a flying splash and rolls Tamina up for the quick victory.

Winner via Pinfall: Natalya

Thoughts: Team BAD has always been my favorite team of the three and I’m loving how Natalya is being included in this storyline.

Recap Video of what went down between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on RAW. At the end of the recap video, we see the breaking news of Seth Rollins getting injured Wednesday night in Ireland. He will be out for 6-9 months and has a torn ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus. This is horrible. Absolutely horrible. It was announced that there will be a tournament to crown a new World Heavyweight Champion at Survivor Series. I’ll write more about this at the end of this Report.

Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens
The first ten minutes of the match was fairly even between these two competitors. Ambrose got the best of Owens and sent him running out of the ring as we go to commercial. When we come back, Ambrose is in control and not a heel. Nice. Ambrose is really starting to unleash on Owens, with a bunch of strikes and then clotheslines Owens out of the ring. Ambrose and Owens exchange throwing each other into the barricade. Owens is now in control and hits a huge splash drop onto the Lunatic Fringe. Ambrose starts turning things around with an awesome superplex from the top turnbuckle. Ambrose continues to unload on Ambrose and plants him with a tornado DDT. Ambrose finds himself back on the top turnbuckle and hits a flying elbow drop for another two count. Ambrose is back on the top turnbuckle and hits a flying missile dropkick. Owens bounces back though and hits a superkick. Ambrose kicks Owens in the midsection, trying to go for his Dirty Deeds finisher, but Owens feigns a low blow attack. The referee pulls Ambrose off and checks on Owens.

Winner via DQ: Kevin Owens

After the match, we see that the replays show that Owens was lying. Ambrose hits a flying suicide dive out of the ring and into Owens. Ambrose starts unloading on Owens, runs back into the ring, and hits another Suicide Dive. Owens throws Ambrose off of him and retreats. Smackdown ends with Ambrose pissed off in the ring.

Main Event + Overall Thoughts: I was looking forward to this US Title feud between these two guys, but with Rollins out of the picture now and the WWE World Heavyweight Title vacant, we might see one of these guys get hot-shotted into the World Title picture. A solid, fun match. I enjoy both these competitors. I thought it would be great to have Ambrose win via DQ, but this was fine and had the same effect on their feud.

Overall, I actually enjoyed this show. Everything had a purpose. ADR/Colter looked great. The Usos made their return to Smackdown. The Wyatt Family looked unbelievable. Natalya got revenge against Team Bad. Ambrose and Owens continued their feud. The only thing that didn’t have much of a purpose was Ryback and Barrett, but it was a very quick match. Therefore… I shall give this show a B But let’s talk quickly about Seth Rollins.

First of all, it is absolutely tragic what happened to the man. He has busted his ass this company on his back. Before him, Brock Lesnar was the Heavyweight champion and we only saw him a few times. Rollins is the first man to be a regular champion since Lesnar. He's a brilliant wrestler. He can talk and connect with the crowds. And he's very entertaining. He played his role exceptionally well and made the most of every hand he was dealt. He didn't deserve this -- but nobody does. On the bright side, he is the undefeated champion now and when he comes back he'll be better than ever.

But now the WWE has an unbelievable opportunity to do something really special. They announced a tournament for Survivor Series where the winner will become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. They have the ability to really shape their Wrestlemania season with who leaves as WWE Champion at Survivor Series. But who will it be? Will the WWE stick with what could've been their original plan and have Roman Reigns win the tournament at Survivor Series? Will Sheamus cash in the MITB briefcase on whoever wins the tournament? Will it be a returning superstar or legend like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar, Triple H, or maybe even The Rock? Or will it be someone completely unexpected like Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, or Bray Wyatt? I would love to know what YOU think!

Disagree with “B” grade? Have an opinion on what’s going to happen with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? Felt like I said something wrong or something that you agree with? That’s all for me, folks. Thanks for reading, and until next time, smack you later.
