Several AEW-related backstage notes have surfaced ahead of All In: London, including an update on the company’s video game situation.
Regarding the recent report from Mike Straw that AEW lost approximately $30 million on AEW Fight Forever, one potentially important detail is that AEW is said to still own the game engine. Because much of the groundwork has already been completed, the company would reportedly have the ability to produce another video game in the future at a significantly lower cost than what was spent developing Fight Forever.
Meanwhile, previous reports that AEW will be scaling back its use of pyro for All In at Wembley Stadium appear to be accurate. However, that does not mean pyro will be completely absent from the August 30 pay-per-view. There is still expected to be some pyrotechnics used during the show, with AEW also working on a number of special entrances for the event.
On the Ring of Honor side, Allie Katch and Tiara James were among the wrestlers brought in as extras for Friday night’s ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view at the 2300 Arena. Several other Philadelphia-area independent wrestlers were also backstage for the event.
There has been some discussion surrounding AEW allowing certain talent contracts to expire. However, there is said to be misinformation and inaccuracies circulating regarding the situation. AEW allowing deals to run their course rather than formally releasing talent has long been the company’s general approach and is not believed to represent a new change in policy.
On their official YouTube channel, AEW has released the full 16-man tag-team showcase match from the AEW ALL IN 2024 Zero Hour pre-show. They have also uploaded
