Chris Jericho’s next move is once again a hot topic—and a new trademark filing has only added more intrigue.
Jericho recently filed to trademark the term “Cornerstone,” sparking speculation about how and where he plans to use the moniker. Within AEW circles, there’s said to be a growing belief that Jericho will ultimately return to the company, with the trademark seemingly aligning more naturally with that environment.
There’s also been increased internal chatter about the possibility of Jericho resurfacing sooner rather than later. In fact, some within AEW have floated the idea of a potential return as early as tonight.
That said, WWE has not been completely out of the picture.
We’re told that discussions between Jericho and WWE have taken place in recent months. However, despite those conversations, there has been no indication that any creative direction was finalized for him. Jericho was reportedly never slated for key recent events such as the Raw on Netflix anniversary show, Royal Rumble, or Elimination Chamber.
For now, AEW appears to be the more likely landing spot.
At minimum, Jericho and AEW have remained in communication over the past couple of months regarding a possible return, keeping the door very much open for “The Ocho” to make his comeback.
