Lil Yachty has reportedly been preparing for his WWE in-ring debut for several months.
As announced during Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Yachty will step into the ring against Baron Corbin at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
The match will feature a five-minute challenge stipulation. If Yachty can survive five minutes against Corbin, Trick Williams will receive a United States Championship match against Corbin later that same night.
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, Yachty has been putting in work behind the scenes for months in preparation for the match, training with WWE Superstar Ivy Nile and her husband, fitness instructor Ari Levy.
“Lil’ Yachty has been training for months with Ivy Nile and her husband,” Alvarez wrote.
Corbin captured the United States Championship from Williams at WWE SummerSlam on August 2. Since then, he has successfully defended the title against Williams on the August 7 episode of SmackDown and Carmelo Hayes on the August 14 show, in addition to making several title defenses at WWE live events.
