Blake Monroe has her eyes on championship gold in WWE — though she may have a different title belt in mind if she gets there.
Monroe is currently part of the WWE SmackDown roster but has yet to make her in-ring debut on the main roster. Despite that, she is already entertaining the idea of winning a championship and potentially bringing back a retired design in the process.
During a recent interview with The Sportster’s Adam Barnard (see video below), Monroe was asked which champion from WWE history she would most like to face. She initially named Trish Stratus before turning her attention to Nikki Bella and the Divas Championship.
“I mean, I have to say Trish just because I feel like she’s just the goat like she’s the ultimate diva and I say that with respect because I know people down talk diva. To me, it’s not a negative term. It’s like, it’s just the female version of a superstar. But she exuded that energy of like being a diva and like she had so much charisma and her promos and her gear and she was just- so many women are inspired by her or Nikki Bella for her Divas Championship because lowkey, I love the Divas Championship, the butterfly. It was cute. It would match my outfit.”
The Divas Championship was retired in 2016 when WWE introduced the new Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 32.
When the possibility of bringing back the Divas Championship was raised, Monroe joked that she could simply replace whichever title she eventually wins on the main roster.
“Don’t let me get my hands on a title because I’ll swap them out.”
