WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray says he personally witnessed Oba Femi visit Brock Lesnar’s locker room after their WWE SummerSlam match to thank him.
Ray shared the account on the August 7 episode of Busted Open Radio. He said he was backstage talking with Lesnar and Paul Heyman when someone knocked on the locker-room door.
“And why was Oba Femi coming to Brock Lesnar’s locker room? To thank him.”
According to Ray, Femi went out of his way to show his appreciation after their Hell in a Cell main event rather than limiting the exchange to a quick post-match handshake. Ray characterized the visit as an old-school show of respect from a younger wrestler to the veteran he believed had helped pass the torch.
The account adds a specific post-match moment to the relationship between the two. WrestlingHeadlines previously reported that Paul “Triple H” Levesque said Lesnar had been mentoring Femi backstage and spending hours sharing knowledge with him before shows.
Femi defeated Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell in the main event of SummerSlam Night One. Lesnar embraced Femi afterward and called him “the future of WWE.” Ray said seeing Femi make the additional backstage visit “made me so happy and warmed my heart.”
