Cody Rhodes has weighed in on the recent controversy involving AJ Styles’ son, Avery Styles, and independent wrestler Arik Cannon.
Cannon made headlines over the weekend after criticizing Avery for not helping set up chairs when asked at a recent GCW event.
AJ Styles responded to Cannon’s comments, pointing out that his 19-year-old son was booked to wrestle at the event and was not there as part of the ring crew.
Cannon has since doubled down on his stance, sharing photos on social media of Cody Rhodes and WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart helping with ring-related duties at independent wrestling events despite their stature in the business.
One of the photos showed Rhodes sweeping the ring at an independent show, prompting the former Undisputed WWE Champion to offer his perspective on the situation.
