AEW superstar and Executive VP Cody Rhodes held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) earlier today through Bleacher Report where The American Nightmare provide an “honest update” regarding the hyped AEW video game.
I’ll give the honest update: the AEW video game will be something all fans know about as we begin the process and as we move forward. If we were to make a very good game, which is our intention, it’s going to take time. Game development is arduous, it’s a very creative space, and we want to do it right. We will keep people updated, it won’t come as a surprise, we want them to take the journey with us. Be extra patient so we can deliver.
Fellow Elite members Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have been vocal about bringing back the same game-engine used in the classic WWF No Mercy and WCW/NWO Revenge N64 games, that are widely considered the best pro-wrestling video games of all time. As Rhodes says above, it’s just going to take some time.
