Cody Rhodes Talks Jeff Cobb, Scouting New Talents for AEW, AEW Vegas Plans, More

AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes hosted a media call earlier today to promote Wednesday’s Dynamite episode from Atlanta. Below are highlights:

* Jeff Cobb is not signed to a full-time contract and things are in “gestation” with him while he continues to work for NJPW and ROH. Cody would love to see him sign a more long-term AEW deal in the future

* AEW is planning to “load things up” in Las Vegas to keep fans busy in between the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in May and the Dynamite Vegas episode that following Wednesday

* AEW is always looking for “fresh” talent that can go in the ring bell-to-bell. The Young Bucks are always scouting indie talent and Taz wants to go to the NCAA finals to scout wrestlers there

* Cody has taken a leadership/ownership role at The Nightmare Factory wrestling school. It’s not affiliated with AEW besides him running it. Sadie Gibbs and Anthony Ogogo will be training there

* Cody said he’d been doing a YouTube deep-dive on indie wrestler Chris Bey when asked about possibly signing more wrestlers of color in 2020
