Darby Allin has high praise for rising star Nick Wayne.
The former TNT champion spoke about Wayne during an interview with Kiro 7 News, where he recalled presenting him with an AEW contract back in February of 2021 shortly after Wayne competed in a matchup at DEFY. Allin also discussed Wayne’s love of the wrestling business, one that even continued shortly after the death of his father.
To have that moment with him and to be there from the start. I would take him to skate parks when we were younger and all those things. It’s crazy. It’s cool to see the journey, especially for him. I remember when his dad passed away, it was two days later and he was training in the ring and posting videos of himself training and I always thought that was the craziest thing. This kid lives for this.
While Wayne has yet to compete in a big setting for AEW Allin’s spotlight continues to grow. He will once again challenge Samoa Joe for the TNT championship at this Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite, the first show of 2023.
