During the most recent episode of After 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff shot down the idea that virtual fans is a viable permanent option. Here’s what he had to say:
I don’t think anything will be as good as having 15,000-20,000 real, live fans, that energy, I don’t think you can replace artificially, but you can come damn close and you can do it more cost effectively, you can do it with a higher degree of production value, and I think the opportunities because of the technology will allow you to do things with that audience differently than you can with a live audience, and I think there will be many opportunities in that regard.
