After hearing Sheamus suggest that nostalgia may play a role in how fans remember the era, Russo wondered why current talent often criticize previous generations.

“That’s interesting, Al, because like the generations you were talking about, okay, I would never downgrade those generations or talk… I would never do that.”

Russo pointed out that he has often praised wrestling eras that came before his own.

“Bro, I’m the one that says, ‘Bro, if you look at the first three years of WrestleMania, I think that era of wrestling was even better than the Attitude Era.’ I’ve said that.”

He continued by explaining that he has always respected the wrestlers and territories that helped build the business.

“And then all the territories you’re talking about, I would never go back and disparage them.”

Russo then posed a question to Al Snow.

“Why do you think these guys find a necessity to constantly take shots at that era?”

Snow responded by suggesting that wrestlers often diminish the accomplishments of previous generations in order to make the current product appear stronger by comparison.

“Because that’s what wrestlers do, is that they downplay something else to make what they’re doing now seem better or bigger.”

Snow argued that acknowledging the success of previous eras would force today’s performers to ask difficult questions about their own work.

“Now you’re going to have to look to yourself and go, well, what do I need to do to make it as good as that used to be in comparison?”

Instead, Snow believes it’s easier to lower expectations.

“Now you can simply set the bar lower by saying, ‘Well, you know, it was a bunch of kicks and a bunch of punches.'”

Snow clarified that he wasn’t attacking Sheamus personally and noted that modern wrestlers only know the current business environment.

“He only knows his own experience now.”

“He doesn’t understand or know the experience from then.”

According to Snow, wrestling during the Attitude Era had a different objective than modern wrestling.

“Everything that was done at that time was with the understanding of achieving for the audience as high a peak of an emotional connection as possible.”

“It wasn’t just to get them to react and make noise.”

Snow contrasted that with what he sees in wrestling today.

“Now that’s what they’re all looking for. They’re simply just looking to get a sound out of them, a reaction out of them.”

Near the end of the discussion, Snow said the real difference was that fans once genuinely cared about the stories and characters.

“They wanted to believe and we made it possible for them to do it and that’s why they cared.”

Green first discussed the opportunity during a recent interview with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, where she explained that she approaches acting with the same mindset she brings to professional wrestling.

“I feel the same way about acting as I do about wrestling,” she told Pro Wrestling Illustrated last week. “I just want to get out there and do it and build a resume. But, I just got a role in a horror film. I film in a couple of weeks and it’s gory as hell.”

That comment immediately sparked speculation among fans about what project Green would be involved with.

Now, the former WWE Women’s United States Champion has revealed the answer.

Taking to X on Monday, Green confirmed that Red Wedding will serve as her first horror movie appearance.

“My horror movie debut,” she wrote in a post shared via X on June 8.

The upcoming film is set to feature Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin in starring roles. Red Wedding is being written and directed by Josh Stolberg, whose previous credits include Saw X, Spiral, and Jigsaw.

Octagón Jr. was stretchered from the arena following a scary landing during the second week of AAA Noche de Los Grandes tapings at the end of May.

While the injury is expected to keep him sidelined for several months, reports indicate the outcome could have been far worse given the nature of the incident.

As the popular AAA star continues his recovery, WWE Hall of Famer and WWE LFG coach The Undertaker took to social media to publicly send his well wishes.

“I would like to take this time to wish a speedy recovery to Octagón Jr. and thank him for his hard work and dedication to AAA,” Undertaker wrote. “We know you’ll be back better than ever and we look forward to having you return to the locker room.”

The injury occurred during a high-stakes bout at the taping, where Octagón Jr. was competing in a five-way match to determine the next challenger for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.

Despite the unfortunate ending for Octagón Jr., the match continued and Lince Dorado ultimately emerged victorious, earning himself a future championship opportunity against reigning AAA Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fénix.

For now, Octagón Jr.’s in-ring future remains on hold as he focuses on recovery.

According to a new report from The Athletic, ESPN and McAfee are currently engaged in negotiations on a new deal that would significantly increase his compensation.

While discussions are ongoing, the report states that the two sides are working within a range of approximately $60 million to $65 million per year.

That figure would represent a substantial raise for McAfee, who is reportedly earning close to $30 million annually under his current agreement.

The report notes that McAfee is being represented in negotiations by TKO/WME executives Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro.

In an effort to maximize leverage during the talks, the representatives reportedly opened discussions by seeking a deal worth $100 million per year.

McAfee’s existing contract still has two years remaining and is structured through a combination of a licensing agreement for The Pat McAfee Show and separate compensation for his various on-air responsibilities with ESPN.

According to the report, the proposed new agreement would maintain a similar setup.

There could also be an expanded role for McAfee moving forward.

Beyond continuing to host his daily show, The Athletic reports that the new contract could lead to additional ESPN appearances and increased involvement in the network’s NFL coverage.

That’s a notable possibility given McAfee’s already sizable presence across ESPN programming.

If the deal is finalized within the reported range, McAfee would become the highest-paid employee at ESPN.

While discussing reports surrounding future WrestleMania plans on 83 Weeks, Bischoff reflected on his brief time working with WWE in 2019 and recalled how much attention was placed on Saudi Arabia’s preferences when planning events.

“One of the things I kept hearing was that Saudis had their own ideas about who should be on the card based on the Saudi audience preferences.”

Bischoff said WWE would spend significant time discussing potential attractions for Saudi events, often focusing on names that resonated with that audience.

“We’d throw these names out, what if this and what if that? And we’d spend hours talking about what Saudi could look like.”

According to Bischoff, many of the names being discussed during that period were not current stars.

“One of them, Yokozuna.”

Bischoff used that example to explain how different the Saudi audience’s interests appeared to be compared to WWE’s domestic audience at the time.

“What does that tell you? That the Saudi audience, at least at that time, wasn’t watching the current product. They were watching stuff that was quite old.”

He continued by noting that many of the attractions discussed were older stars, legends, or performers who were no longer active.

“A lot of the talent… their idea of marquee matchups were guys that were either dead or no longer in the business or capable of.”

While acknowledging that audience preferences may have changed since then, Bischoff believes nostalgia remains a major factor in Saudi Arabia.

“If that same kind of vintage hangover, we’ll call it legacy hangover, is still part of the audience composition in terms of what they want to see, then obviously bringing Rock back…”

Bischoff also mentioned John Cena as another star who could appeal to that audience, even outside of a wrestling role.

“John Cena in some kind of non-wrestling related role is probably going to check those nostalgia boxes.”

Based on those experiences and observations, Bischoff believes The Rock is likely to be involved if WWE moves forward with a WrestleMania event in Saudi Arabia.

“I do see Rock on the card in Saudi for WrestleMania.”

“He was the world champion because of his looks, and that’s what it was. It wasn’t because of his wrestling skills.”

While critical of Warrior’s work in the ring, Eadie acknowledged that Warrior ultimately achieved tremendous success.

“He’s the smartest guy out of all of us because he got in a position, he made millions of dollars.”

Eadie also made it clear that his comments were focused strictly on Warrior’s wrestling ability and not the success he achieved during his career.

“He got over. The people loved him. He made a lot of money. Good for him. But as far as wrestling skills go, I don’t think that’s what got him to the top.”

Ultimate Warrior became one of WWE’s biggest stars during the late 1980s and early 1990s, eventually defeating Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania VI.

Kelley later reflected on her younger years and admitted she struggled with confidence growing up.

“I was a very very shy kid. Um, I don’t think I knew if or when people were making fun of me. Uh, I had like one friend and um very in like very classic ’90s early 2000s movies. Uh, I went to prom with my gay best friend. So, it was just like you couldn’t have written it.”

She also recalled difficult moments from her school years.

“I wouldn’t say that I was like bullied ever, but um I specifically remember especially in high school um like moments where like the entire class is laughing at you.”

Kelley explained that she sees herself as someone who is constantly evolving and growing.

“I feel like along with liking and wanting growth, I think that I am ever changing. I don’t recognize the person that I was a year ago. I don’t recognize the person that I was five years ago or 10 years ago. Um, I think the people that knew me in grade school or high school would have called me like very shy.”

When discussing her personal development, Kelley said confidence has been a major focus.

“I think it’s doing a lot of self work. Um I don’t know that I always had the most confidence growing up and really just stepping into that.”

Despite describing herself as introverted, Kelley said the version of herself seen on WWE television is genuine.

“I feel like that version of me as a backstage interviewer is very much me. Um, obviously there’s a little bit more of a hosty voice to it, but other than that, we all have our host voices. Yeah, I feel like that’s me.”

Kelley has worked as one of WWE’s most recognizable backstage interviewers for years and currently appears regularly on SmackDown.

Not so fast, however.

Following the game, Danhausen took to social media to address any fans who might point to his well-known “curse” gimmick as the reason for the loss.

According to Danhausen, the numbers tell a different story.

After previously claiming he had “uncursed” the Knicks, the team went on a remarkable 13-game winning streak before finally suffering a defeat on Monday night.

As a result, Danhausen insists responsibility for the loss falls elsewhere.

The very nice, very evil WWE star made his case online after the game, joking that his presence was not the reason New York’s winning ways came to an end.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently shared a positive update on her rehabilitation, revealing that she has canceled a planned trip to Italy in order to remain focused on getting back to full strength.

According to Bella, the decision ultimately felt like the right move as her recovery continues to trend in a positive direction.

Speaking on a solo episode of The Nikki & Brie Show (see video below), Bella explained that she began having second thoughts about traveling and eventually realized she needed to stay home and concentrate on her workouts and rehab.

“The one thing that was the blessing, you know, when I originally had my trip booked to meet Brie, every night I’d wake up with anxiety about this trip,” she said. “So that’s when I started to know it wasn’t a right time for me to go to Tuscany, and being home, I’ve realized that I’ve really just have been hardworking at my workouts and recovery and just getting really good news along the way, how much stronger I am, just everything looks great.”

That wasn’t the only encouraging news Bella shared.

The former Divas Champion went on to reveal that her recovery is progressing so well that her next round of X-rays has been moved up ahead of schedule. She also noted that she expects to begin testing things out in the ring soon as she takes another step toward an in-ring return.

“I’m getting my X-rays done I think a week earlier,” she continued. “I’ll start to just get in the ring and dabble on how that feels. But everything’s just looking really strong and healthy and I felt like I had to be home.”

Former WWE star Kaitlyn recently reflected on her WWE Payback 2013 showdown with AJ Lee, a match that saw AJ capture the Divas Championship for the first time and begin what would become a historic title reign.

Looking back on the bout during an appearance on Rewind, Recap, Relive (see video below), Kaitlyn revealed that the match ran longer than scheduled and even cut into the time allotted for John Cena’s match later on the card.

According to Kaitlyn, WWE officials were urging the match to wrap up, but she and AJ felt they still had more story left to tell in front of an energized crowd.

“What’s funny about that match is we went over on our time and you never do that on a pay-per-view,” she recalled. “They told us to go home. We probably still had two minutes left, maybe two and a half minutes left of like to really tell the story, and so the ref tells us like, ‘you need to take it home, take it home, take it home.’ We were used to getting our time cut because people’s matches ran over, you know?”

At the time, women’s matches often found themselves losing minutes when other segments exceeded their allotted time. However, Kaitlyn said this occasion played out differently, with AJ pushing to continue despite repeated instructions from the referee.

A bold decision in the moment.

“So there’s usually always the divas that they cut,” she continued. “The ref tells us and AJ’s like, ‘no,’ and so we were both down selling and she was like, ‘let’s keep going.’ I was like, ‘okay.’ The crowd was insane. I was crying, and when we got back into Gorilla, Cena was back there, and because Cena’s match was still up. So we cut into Cena’s match, and he was like, ‘never do that again.’ But he was like, ‘great match.’”

While Cena apparently made it clear that running over time was not something wrestlers should make a habit of, Kaitlyn noted that he still complimented the match. More than a decade later, the bout remains one of the most highly regarded matches of the Divas Championship era and served as the launching point for AJ Lee’s record-setting run at the top of the division.

A new trademark filing submitted by WWE on Monday, June 8, revealed the company has applied to register the name “Reina Volcan.” The phrase translates to “Volcano Queen” in English, though there is currently no indication as to who the name is intended for.

As of this writing, WWE has not publicly acknowledged the filing, and it remains unclear whether the trademark is connected to a current talent, a future signing, or a performer who could appear in WWE’s expanding partnership with AAA, NXT, or on the main roster.

The filing does, however, include the standard entertainment-related language WWE typically uses when trademarking wrestler names, ring names, and character identities.

The goods and services description reads:

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

For now, the filing only adds to the speculation surrounding WWE’s future talent plans. With the company continuing to recruit wrestlers from around the world while also expanding its relationship with AAA, trademark applications such as this often generate significant interest among fans trying to determine what could be coming next.

Whether “Reina Volcan” ends up becoming the ring name of a new signing, a rebranded talent, or a character intended for another WWE-affiliated project remains to be seen.

Kelley said R-Truth’s positive attitude has made him one of the most beloved figures in WWE.

“He is someone that brings such a positive morale to work every single week. He’s always in a good mood. He’s always making people laugh. He’s somebody that everybody loves being around.”

She admitted that learning he was leaving the company was difficult because there was no opportunity to properly say goodbye.

“Not getting to say goodbye to someone is always tough. Especially somebody that you’ve worked with for so long and somebody that’s such a big part of the locker room culture.”

Kelley explained that Truth’s absence was immediately noticeable backstage because of the energy he brings to WWE every week.

“He’s just one of those people where when he’s not there, you feel it. You notice it. He has such a presence and such a positive impact on everyone around him.”

When R-Truth eventually returned, Kelley said it was a special moment for both the locker room and the fans.

“When he came back, I think that was really special for everyone. Obviously the fans were excited, but I think people backstage were really happy too.”

She continued by praising Truth’s ability to connect with virtually everyone he works with.

“I don’t know anyone that has a bad thing to say about Truth. He’s just genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.”

Kelley made it clear that R-Truth’s value extends far beyond what fans see on television.

“He’s somebody that means a lot to this company. He’s somebody that means a lot to the locker room.”

Truth has been one of WWE’s most popular and longest-tenured performers, and Kelley said his return was a moment that resonated with people throughout the company.

“I think that was really special for everyone.”

The Japanese standout is scheduled to face Skye Blue in the first round of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament during AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster. The bout will mark Sareee’s first match under the AEW banner.

However, in a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Sareee admitted that her neck has not completely recovered and explained that her longtime tag team partner, Takumi Iroha, will accompany her to the United States as a precaution.

According to Sareee, AEW has approved the arrangement, with Iroha prepared to step in if she is ultimately unable to compete.

“I’m not yet in a state where my neck is in perfect shape for my comeback in America. We also got permission from AEW, and this time Takumi will accompany us as our second. If anything happens to me, she’ll come in as a pinch hitter. I’m in a tag team called Spark Rush with Takumi, and I hope to get advice from Chono together this time.”

It’s an interesting wrinkle heading into one of the most anticipated first-round matches in the tournament.

The interview was conducted by Japanese wrestling legend Masahiro Chono, who offered some cautionary advice to Sareee regarding her return to the ring. Chono stressed the importance of protecting her long-term health rather than rushing back before she is fully ready.

“I don’t recommend you [Sareee] step into the ring. There’s still more than ten years left to do after this. If things go wrong, you might end up missing a long game or suffering a serious injury… Don’t rush, right? If Iroha can make the most of Sareee-chan’s chance, both stages will go up.”

Despite the concerns surrounding her condition, Sareee remains scheduled for Wednesday’s Summer Blockbuster special, where she will look to advance in the Owen Hart Cup tournament and make an immediate impact in her AEW debut.

While appearing on the latest episode of INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the longtime WWE interviewer opened up about her future aspirations, revealing that she has no interest in becoming an in-ring competitor despite occasional speculation from fans.

The topic came up while discussing a memorable moment from earlier this year when Kelley was shoved during a tense confrontation involving Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer on the road to WrestleMania.

Although she enjoys being involved in storylines, Kelley made it clear that wrestling itself doesn’t appeal to her.

Instead, she sees herself potentially taking on a managerial role someday.

“I don’t think I would want to have a match. I’ve expressed in the past that I do want to get more involved in some capacity and I would love to be a manager. I don’t know who for. That’s been something that I’ve said for probably a decade now. I actually valeted Ryan Katz in his last match on the indies many, many years ago but that I mean that progression is something that I would want.”

Kelley has also been spotted at the WWE Performance Center on multiple occasions over the years, something that has fueled additional curiosity about whether she might eventually transition into a different role within the company.

According to Kelley, those visits are simply part of her ongoing desire to learn as much as possible about the wrestling business.

One of the people who has had the biggest impact on that learning process is WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman.

“I would say that I’m someone that really values growth and I love learning everything that I can about this business. So, any opportunity that I can do that, I’m going to take it. Another example is I sit next to Paul Heyman every single week in Gorilla. Just you learn through osmosis by sitting next to him. But yeah, I really enjoy that.”

Kelley went on to share one of the many pieces of advice she received from Heyman, noting that some of his most valuable lessons have come from seemingly small details.

“There’s so many lessons I don’t even know where to start but this isn’t the the best thing that I’ve learned from him, but when I was wearing glasses and I cut my bangs, he’s like ‘you have to get rid of that because we can’t see your eyes and your eyes are where you tell your emotion’. So, there’s just a lot of little things that I think that he helps so many people backstage, but I picked up on from him.”

Kelley also praised Heyman for the constant attention he pays to everything happening around him and described herself as fortunate to be able to learn from him on a weekly basis.

A small observation with a big lesson.

“I feel like he is just watching everything, but when he gives advice to others, sometimes I’m there and I get to hear that. So, I feel very privileged to be around that. And then also I just randomly watch a documentary and, and start asking him questions about ECW. So, it’s cool to have the source right there. I recently watched Raven’s documentary, which was so good. And then, you know, you get to pick his brain about it.”

During a recent edition of 83 Weeks, Bischoff discussed Rhodes’ current run as a top babyface and admitted he has lost interest in seeing more of the same version of the character.

“I’m over Cody as a babyface champion.”

Bischoff made it clear that his comments were not meant as criticism of Rhodes personally. Instead, he explained that after several years of Rhodes in the same role, he feels WWE has reached a point where a major character change would be more compelling.

“It’s not that I don’t like it. It’s just that I’m kind of had my fill of it there. There’s just not a lot of desire for me to see what the next iteration of Cody as a baby face is going to bring because we’ve been seeing it a lot for the last couple years.”

Bischoff then suggested that taking the championship away from Rhodes could be the first step toward a heel turn.

“I’d get that belt off of him somehow some way that would begin his journey into healedom because I think there’s a lot of story, a lot of great work.”

He continued by praising Rhodes’ ability as a performer and actor, noting that he believes Rhodes has the tools necessary to succeed in a completely different role.

“Cody’s acting, performing ability because he’s an actor. He is an actor. He could bring that heel character to life in a way that not too many people could because not very many people have his acting ability.”

Bischoff closed by reiterating that he is more interested in seeing what a heel version of Rhodes could look like than continuing his current run as WWE’s top babyface.

“I want to see that. That gets me excited. Babyface Cody, sorry. Been there, done that a lot.”

The former WWE Women’s Champion recently took to social media to provide fans with an encouraging update, showing off improved mobility in the injured finger as she continues her rehabilitation efforts.

Belair shared a video of herself bending the finger and noted that her current pregnancy has unexpectedly given her additional time to focus on the recovery process.

“One thing about being pregnant…it’s really given me the time to get my finger better!!!,” she wrote. “We are still on therapy and we are bending!”

It’s another positive sign for Belair, who has been away from in-ring competition since suffering the injury around last year’s WrestleMania season.

The injury has proven to be a lengthy setback for “The EST of WWE,” as the finger failed to heal properly despite extensive recovery efforts.

Earlier this year, Belair underwent an additional procedure in February in hopes of correcting the issue and getting her rehabilitation back on track.

While there is still no official timetable for her return to WWE action, Belair’s latest update suggests that progress is continuing as she works toward eventually stepping back inside the squared circle.

After spending the past week competing in France, Portugal, and Spain, the AEW star made his way to Madison Square Garden in New York City for Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.

During an appearance on ESPN ahead of the game, Danhausen continued to embrace the storyline surrounding his alleged influence on the Knicks’ playoff success.

The self-proclaimed curse master took partial credit for New York’s recent winning streak and even suggested that one of the Knicks’ guards could have a future as a WWE Superstar.

Danhausen also joked about the size of ESPN personalities and former NBA players Iman Shumpert and Jeremy Lin.

“Jeremy Lin and Iman Shumpert are even taller than Danhausen, so they must be close to 10 feet tall,” he quipped.

The night wasn’t entirely smooth for the eccentric wrestler, however.

Following his television appearance, Danhausen revealed on social media that he had an unexpected encounter before tipoff.

“Someone from the spurs hit Danhausen with a basketball pre game during his live interview,” he wrote, alongside a GIF of himself smiling.

The appearance is the latest chapter in one of the more unusual crossover stories of the NBA postseason.

As the playoffs began, Danhausen famously claimed to have placed a curse on the Knicks.

Shortly afterward, New York dropped two of its first three postseason games against the Atlanta Hawks.

Danhausen then announced that he had lifted the curse, and the results that followed have only added fuel to the running joke.

Since being “uncursed,” the Knicks have reeled off 13 consecutive victories. The streak includes three straight wins over Atlanta, sweeps of both the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers, and the team’s 2-0 lead over the Spurs entering Game 3 of the Finals.

Danhausen recently escalated things even further by issuing a tongue-in-cheek list of demands directed at New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Among the requests was a Danhausen-themed balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, with the wrestler warning that failure to comply could result in the Knicks being cursed once again.

After Penta successfully retained the Intercontinental Championship, the two fan favorites shared a show of respect in the ring with an embrace. The moment was short-lived, however, as Ethan Page and Rusev stormed the ring and launched a post-match assault on both competitors.

Dragon Lee quickly ran down to even the odds, initially driving Page and Rusev from the ring. The advantage didn’t last long, as Page attacked Lee and sent him crashing over the barricade at ringside.

With Lee temporarily out of the picture, Page and Rusev returned to the ring and continued their attack. The situation escalated when Rusev ripped the mask off Rey Mysterio, leaving the WWE Hall of Famer exposed in the middle of the ring.

Chad Gable then rushed to the ring and made the save, taking the fight to both Page and Rusev. Gable cleared the ring after delivering suplexes to the attackers, forcing them to retreat.

As the dust settled, Dragon Lee returned carrying a towel to help shield Mysterio’s face from view, while Penta also stepped in to protect the masked legend’s privacy. Gable recovered Mysterio’s mask and handed it to Penta, allowing Mysterio to quickly put it back on as Raw moved on from the chaotic scene.

The addition includes the first 101 episodes of Dynamite, covering a substantial portion of the company’s formative years from 2019 through 2021. The episodes are available to stream free of charge through Tubi, giving fans another option to revisit the promotion’s early history without requiring a paid subscription.

It’s another notable step in AEW’s ongoing media expansion during a year that has already seen the company launch its own MyAEW streaming platform.

Interestingly, AEW now shares space on Tubi with several wrestling-related properties. The service already hosts WWE programming such as NXT and Evolve, along with A&E-produced content including WWE Rivals and WWE Biography episodes. Vice TV’s Dark Side of the Ring is also available on the platform.

One curious detail is how the content appears in Tubi’s search function. Searching for WWE does not currently surface AEW programming, but searching for AEW brings up both NXT and Evolve alongside AEW content. WWE Evolve was added to the service in March 2025.

For fans looking to explore AEW’s archive, there are now multiple viewing options available depending on their location and subscription status. Archived content can be accessed through HBO Max with a subscription, through AEW’s MyAEW service, or through Tubi’s free ad-supported platform.

Danhausen recently spoke to aspiring wrestlers about the importance of developing a character and standing out from the crowd. His comments caught Jarrett’s attention, particularly his belief that wrestling success involves much more than what happens inside the ring.

“It’s never been strictly about the athletic ability.”

Jarrett pointed to numerous examples throughout wrestling history where character work ultimately proved more valuable than pure in-ring talent.

“For whatever reason, I was sitting there thinking about Kamala.”

Jarrett recalled how Kamala’s character transformed Sugar Bear Harris from another wrestler on the roster into a memorable attraction that connected with audiences.

“They made a character.”

According to Jarrett, the same principle has applied throughout multiple generations of wrestling. He reflected on his own career and explained how Vince McMahon changed his presentation when he arrived in WWE.

“My mouth became much more important than whether I could work or headlock or any of that kind of stuff in developing that character.”

Jarrett noted that WWE spent weeks introducing his character through vignettes before fans ever saw him wrestle a match.

“When I walked out the first night, they booed the hell out of me.”

“They had never seen me even walk to the ring, let alone lock up, punch, any of that kind of stuff.”

The former TNA founder also pointed to Stone Cold Steve Austin as another example. While Austin had already established himself as a talented performer, Jarrett believes it was his character and promos that elevated him into a megastar.

“He said that King of the Ring promo and whoa, he’s the rebel and things took off.”

Jarrett then connected the discussion to more recent examples, including Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser, whose highly praised WWE AAA match generated significant buzz despite both wrestlers having been established performers for years.

“Did it really have to do with their athletic ability or with their storytelling and presentation?”

“Both guys have been around and they’ve never received, to my knowledge, this much praise.”

Ultimately, Jarrett agreed with Danhausen’s central point. While athletic ability remains important, he believes character, storytelling, and presentation are what truly separate successful wrestlers from the rest of the pack.

“As Danhausen said, it isn’t—it’s never been strictly about the athletic ability.”

Jarrett even shared advice he learned early in his career from his father.

“You can be too good of a worker and it hurts your career.”

For Jarrett, Danhausen’s success serves as another reminder that connecting with fans often matters more than executing the perfect move inside the ring.

Fatu comes from one of the most legendary families in professional wrestling. He is the son of the late Umaga and a member of the famed Anoa’i wrestling dynasty, making him a third-generation performer and the great-nephew of The Wild Samoans, Afa and Sika.

His wrestling journey officially began on July 15, 2023, after training primarily under WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. Since making his debut, Fatu has quickly established himself as one of the more talked-about prospects on the independent scene.

That momentum has come through appearances for promotions such as House of Glory, Game Changer Wrestling, and Reality of Wrestling. Along the way, he has captured multiple championships, including two reigns as HOG Crown Jewel Champion as well as the ROW Heavyweight Championship.

According to available viewership data, Thursday night’s broadcast on AMC attracted 226,000 viewers. That marks a noticeable increase from the 195,000 viewers recorded for the May 28 episode, representing a week-over-week rise of approximately 16 percent.

The growth wasn’t limited to overall audience numbers.

In the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic, iMPACT posted a 0.03 rating, improving from the 0.02 rating the program generated the previous week. While the number remains modest compared to larger wrestling broadcasts, it reflects positive movement in one of television’s most closely watched metrics.

A step in the right direction.

On Monday morning, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque surfaced via social media to share the official promotional poster for the upcoming WWE Night Of Champions 2026 premium live event.

Scheduled for June 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the WWE Night Of Champions PLE poster features reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes prominently featured, along with WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and WWE United States Champion Trick Williams.

“With it all on the line…” the post from Levesque on X began. “WWE Night of Champions will be LIVE Saturday, June 27 at 1pm ET. Stream on ESPN app in the US / Netflix internationally.”

Road Dogg admitted that even though he had considered leaving WWE for some time, he struggled with the idea of walking away from a stable job.

“I actually stayed longer than I wanted to.”

“Just out of fear of unemployment and fear of like, ‘Oh God, what do I do now?'”

According to Road Dogg, years of worrying about job security made it difficult to seriously consider leaving, even when he knew something needed to change.

“I’ve been nervous job scared for 15 years.”

The turning point came shortly before a meeting when his wife called him and shared her honest feelings about how his work schedule was affecting their lives.

“My wife told me on the phone, I was about to go into a meeting, and she said, ‘I live with you in a tent.'”

The comment immediately struck a chord with Road Dogg. Despite spending much of his time working, he realized he was not truly present at home.

Rather than dismissing the conversation, Road Dogg said he made a decision on the spot.

“I said, ‘I’m coming home right now.'”

The WWE Hall of Famer explained that stepping away from the company ultimately helped him gain a new perspective. While he had spent years worrying about what would happen if he left, the reality was far less dramatic than he expected.

“And then I quit and it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s all I had to do.'”

Road Dogg acknowledged that leaving WWE was not an easy choice, but he believes it was the right one for both his personal life and his long-term happiness.

Today, he remains passionate about professional wrestling and hopes to continue contributing to the industry in different ways.

“I still love wrestling and I want to do wrestling.”

Rather than seeking another major corporate role, Road Dogg said he would like to spend his time helping younger talent and smaller wrestling organizations.

“I’m going to help somebody before this year is up.”

“I want to help somebody that’s smaller and that not only needs the help, but wants the help.”

Looking back, Road Dogg credits his wife for helping him recognize that his career had begun consuming too much of his life. That conversation ultimately gave him the push he needed to make a difficult decision and move forward on a different path.

And whoever he is, he’ll fought valiantly, but unfortunately his journey ends there, because I will destroy him as well.

And when I do, I’ll take my rightful place upon the throne as your new King Of The Ring. And that’s not a prediction, that’s a spoiler. And I will take that crown, because, as you know, your ruler needs a crown to be The Ruler, doesn’t he? And 2026 is the year of collecting trophies, but there is one trophy that I have yet to collect, but that is the head of Brock Lesnar. Because the score is 1-1, but he’s nowhere to be seen. He comes back, and he gets even, and he disappears. And he does it in the most underhanded way possible. He cheats, he hits me from behind, he attacks when I’m not looking, and I get to listen to Paul Heyman talk about what I unleashed in his Big Bad Beast, but the only thing that I’ve seen for the last three weeks is a Big Bad Bitch. So, Brock, you can’t stay away forever, when I see you, I’ll settle the score.

Dominik Mysterio: Oba, you don’t rule anybody. You see, you’re so worried about Brock Lesnar, Brock Lesnar, but you should’ve been worried about Dirty Dom. Let me ask you a question. How long have you been here, rookie? And I said, how long have you been here rookie, a cup of coffee? I am a 20 year veteran in this game. I am The King Of The Luchadores. And once I am your King Of The Ring, I will rule over you. So, why don’t you make this easy for yourself, bend the knee and respect the stache?

Oba shrugs off a chair shot from JD McDonagh. Oba punches the chair into McDonagh’s face. Oba is choking McDonagh. Mysterio delivers The 619. Oba catches Mysterio in mid-air. Oba with The Toss Slam. Oba prepares for The Fall From Grace. McDonagh pulls Mysterio out of the ring.

– We got a video recap of the Seth Rollins/Bron Breakker main event from last week’s Raw.

– Jackie Redmond had a backstage interview with Seth Rollins. Are we done with The Vision now? Seth welcomes us to Monday Night Rollins. Time is flat circle, because the last time he was in Paris, he was in fact the World Heavyweight Champion, he was the leader of The Vision, and The Vision was the future, but now The Vision is in the past. The present is The King Of The Ring Tournament, which he will win, and the future is him taking back the title that he never loss. And what that means is he has a date down the line with Roman Reigns, a man he used to call his brother, a man who can’t seem to win titles on his own, a man who can’t seem to beat Seth Rollins when it matters the most. Rollins says that Roman is holding onto a title that doesn’t belong him. That World Heavyweight Championship is the title Rollins created. It belongs to The Visionary, The Revolutionary, the World Heavyweight Championship belongs to Seth Freakin’ Rollins.

First Match: Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Chelsea Green In A First Round Match In The 2026 Queen Of The Ring Tournament 

Morgan immediately retreats to the outside after the bell rings. Becky goes for The Manhandle Slam, but Green lands back on her feet. Bliss rocks Becky with a forearm smash. Green wants Bliss to shake her hand. Green denies The Sister’s Abigail. Green sends Bliss into a right hand from Becky. Becky kicks Green in the gut. Becky sends Green to the corner. – Chad Gable walks up to PENTA in the locker room. Gable knows that Penta has a very important match coming up, so he’s going to keep this short. He spoke to Rey Fenix on SmackDown, and he said a lot of things that got him thinking. Gable did a lot of things the past two years that he’s ashamed of. He went crazy, running around impersonating luchador, insulting an entire culture, all because he lost to PENTA in his debut match in WWE. The match was awesome, but he didn’t take the loss like a man, he took it like a coward and his actions showed that. Gable doesn’t expect anything from Penta, but he’s going to look him in the eyes and apologize. Penta loves Lucha Libre, he loves his brother, he loves everything about Lucha Libre and his culture. He knows that it’s not easy to say you’re wrong, and he respects that. If Gable wants to do right by Lucha Libre, he knows who he needs to talk to.

– WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event will be taking place on September 6th at The State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

– Seth Rollins had a nice embrace with Montez Ford in the locker room. Montez wishes Seth good luck in the main event tonight, because he’s truly this generation’s King Of The Ring. Seth is glad that Montez stopped by and he’s grateful for last week. Seth asks Montez how is Angelo Dawkins doing? The Bloodline joins the conversation. Jey says that Seth should be really careful about how he speaks about the family. Matter of fact, Jey is also in The King Of The Ring Tournament, he’s going to win it, and he’s taking the Undisputed WWE Championship away from Cody Rhodes. YEET! Seth is glad that Jey is in the tournament, he’s not going to win, but at least that’s more than what he can say about Jimmy Uso. Big Jim is on the sidelines, right where Roman Reigns wants him. Seth wasn’t talking about the family; he was talking specifically about Roman Reigns. He knows that this is a family thing, and that’s how The Bloodline does business, and he’s not mad about it. He’s disappointed, because the truth is, he thought that The Usos were better than this, better than just running business for Roman Reigns. Maybe he was wrong, maybe being bag boys for Roman is the best thing they’ll ever accomplish. Jey tells Jacob Fatu to go get Seth. Fatu takes his shades off and walks away. The Usos leave out of frustration.

– We see Bayley talking to Lyra Valkyria ahead of her big IC Title Match against Sol Ruca. Bayley is really excited for Lyra. Tonight is about Lyra getting back what belongs to her. Bayley reminds Lyra that her resume got her to where she is tonight. Bayley tells Lyra to do whatever it takes to win and she believes in her. Bayley wishes Lyra good luck.

Second Match: Sol Ruca (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria w/Bayley For The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship 

Collar and Elbow Tie Up. Ruca with a side headlock takeover. Valkyria works on her joint manipulation game. Wrist Lock Exchange. Ruca applies an arm-bar. Valkyria with a double up kick. Stereo Kip Ups. That leads us to a quick standoff in the center of the ring. Valkyria ducks a clothesline from Ruca. Standing Switch Exchange. – Jey Uso is yelling at Jacob Fatu in the backstage area. Jey wants to know why Jacob didn’t run the play, they’re on the same team. Jacob doesn’t want things to get twisted around here, and let’s keep it 100, he didn’t acknowledge The Usos, the only person he acknowledges is “The OTC” Roman Reigns. Jacob says that The Usos need to worry about their boy, LA Knight, didn’t they tell him to stop running his mouth about the family? LA has a lot on his mind, and a lot to say, he’s probably out there right now talking about the family, and The Usos are back here doing nothing. Jimmy tells Jacob to group text then.

– Rey Mysterio will be a special guest on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker and Michelle McCool. Plus, Becky Lynch appears on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” Podcast.

LA Knight & Jey Uso Segment 

LA Knight: Let me talk to you. Friday, SmackDown, Fatal Four Way for the King Of The Ring. Finn Balor, Royce Keys, Jey Uso, and the man standing right here, with everybody saying, LA Knight. YEAH! Now, normally, I would walk out here, I would say, on Friday, I’m gonna go through all four of them, I’m gonna go to Night Of Champions, I’m gonna win that, and I’m facing Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. You know what, I’m not even mad at you for chanting that. I’m not mad, you know why, because Roman Reigns has conned you, Roman Reigns has pulled the wool over your eyes. And tonight, I’m not gonna come out here and say that I’m gonna win the King Of The Ring, and I’m gonna go on to face him. You know why? Because I gotta consider the landscape right now. Roman Reigns is a guy whose empire is on the verge of crumbling, so he’s out here trying to hold onto any power he can, he’s keeping us all trapped in that Bloodline Vortex, so I can’t think that, on Friday, somebody from The Bloodline ain’t gonna come down here and interfere in that match to help Jey Uso win. And I know, I know I heard the warnings from Jimmy Uso, from Jey Uso, don’t talk about the family, it’s not your business.

But boys, unlike you, I don’t take orders from Roman Reigns, I don’t fall in line to a Tribal Chief, in this neighborhood, I am the chief. So, as Chief LA Knight, let’s go ahead and give me the benefit of the doubt. Let’s say I go on, and I win on Friday night, I go on to the King Of The Ring, I win that, too, and then I am facing Roman Reigns, looking him right in the eye for that World Heavyweight Championship. You can’t think for one second that every single member of The Bloodline ain’t gonna come down here, Jacob, Jimmy, Jey, John-Jacob, Jingle-Himer-Schmit. Fun fact, his name is my name, too, and he’s probably gonna get involved in that match, as will probably their mom, their dad, their uncle, their aunt, their daughter, their grandfather, maybe the neighbor down the street, just to make sure Roman Reigns is still the champion. And guess who’s gonna put the big old stamp on it? Adam Pearce.

Now, I ain’t gonna go as far as to say that Adam Pearce is in the pocket of Roman Reigns or The Bloodline, but what I am gonna say is that there’s a stark market difference in the way that Adam Pearce talked to me last week and then a difference in the way he talked to Roman Reigns the week before. He’s clearly got his favorites, and I ain’t it. But that’s okay, I may be unchosen, but every single one of you, you chose me. And more importantly than any of that, I chose myself, which means I do it my way, which means I get the job done. And I will make you one single solitary promise, which is I don’t know how to quit, I don’t know how to stop. I can’t stop the undeniable kavorka, and I can’t stop being LA Knight. And with that being the case, I’m gonna go ahead and wish every single man in that match on Friday luck. And I especially want to wish Jey Uso luck, I want to wish you so much luck, Jey, that you’re able to do this on your own without calling your whole damn family down to ringside.

Jey Uso: I said, “Main Event” Jey Uso is now in your city.

LA Knight: You don’t possibly expect to stand here and watch this? Tell me, tell me why you came down here to interrupt me?

Jey Uso: Because, whenever my family calls for me, I’m gonna answer that call, LA. So, I need you to stay in your damn lane. As far as me and you, yeah, I’m in the King Of The Ring Tournament. Yeah, I don’t need no luck, LA, because I’m still HIM, I’m still the Arena Shaker, I’m still “Main Event” Jey Uso, and Friday night, I’m gonna show you exactly who the hell I am, uce. LA Knight: Cut, cut, cut, cut. That’s okay, you’re alright to boo that, I understand, it’s fun to do, I did it at WrestleMania, I understand it, I don’t fault you. But my man, really, man-to-man, I think you have me wrong, I think you misunderstand who I am. I respect the fact that you’re passionate about your family. I love the fact that you’re protective over your family, that’s how you should be, that’s how a good man should be. – Chad Gable runs into Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee in the backstage area. Dragon tells Gable that they’re good, take it easy. Gable should know by now what the mask means. Lucha Libre is about culture and respect. They heard what he said to Fenix and PENTA, and he needs to stop beating himself up. Rey says that when Gable started this fiasco, his mission was to poke fun at Lucha Libre. Rey admits that he wanted to knock Gable’s head off his shoulders at one point, but after seeing the Mask versus Mask Match, that was true Lucha Libre, he felt that. Rey accepts Gable’s apology. Gable is very appreciative. Rey has known Gable for a long time, and he’s not to judge, but he might want to look back a little further, because he’s pretty sure that Gable said and did some things he may have regretted even before putting on the Lucha Mask. Rey is referring to The Alpha Academy.

– Roman Reigns will be appearing at Fanatics Fest this year.

According to sources within WWE, the change was made due to scheduling considerations involving the company’s broadcast partners.

The adjustment had reportedly been in the works for several weeks and was known internally by a number of people before the official announcement was made.

There were also reportedly logistical factors tied to the host city that contributed to the decision.

One source familiar with the situation indicated that early September would have presented challenges for fans traveling to the event, including significantly higher costs associated with other activities and events taking place in the area at that time.

Those concerns would have come on top of the increased travel volume and expenses typically associated with Labor Day weekend.

The move gives WWE additional flexibility with scheduling while potentially making travel arrangements easier and more affordable for fans planning to attend the annual ladder match spectacular.

Money In The Bank remains one of WWE’s most important premium live events of the year, with the winners of the men’s and women’s ladder matches earning championship opportunities that can be cashed in at any time.

Longtime WWE Superfan Vladimir Abouzeide has reportedly returned home after spending approximately a month hospitalized following a serious fall.

Good news for Vlad.

The incident resulted in a severe concussion and required extensive physical therapy during his recovery.

According to reports, WWE’s only officially recognized Superfan is eager to resume attending wrestling events as soon as he is medically able.

Responding to the speculation, Martel wrote on X to clear things up.

“In 2015, I was offered to appear at Axxess in San Francisco and attend the Hall of Fame as a spectator,” he wrote. “Flattered, I still turned it down as I was not ready to go back to wrestling for appearances like I am now.”

He added, “I didn’t turn down an offer to be inducted in the WWE HOF. Thank you!”

Martel’s comments appear to put to rest the belief held by some fans that he had been offered a Hall of Fame induction and personally rejected it.

According to the former wrestling star, the invitation was related to WrestleMania weekend activities and attending the Hall of Fame ceremony as a guest, not being inducted himself.

While discussing the current WWE product, Road Dogg explained that he feels the roster has become too heavily concentrated with wrestlers who are presented as top stars.

“I think that’s what’s kind of hurting the WWE right now.”

According to Road Dogg, the issue isn’t a lack of talent. Instead, he believes there are not enough unique personalities filling out the rest of the card.

“Everybody seems like a top guy.”

“There’s no midcard entertainment.”

Road Dogg stressed that wrestling shows need a variety of characters and storylines to keep audiences engaged throughout an entire broadcast.

“When I think about it, more of the show is midcard than it is top guy.”

He pointed to the Attitude Era as an example, noting that while fans tuned in to see stars like Steve Austin, successful wrestling television also relied on entertaining undercard acts.

“You got to figure out what the other hour and 50 minutes of that show is and fill it with entertainment.”

The former WWE writer also explained that wrestling works best when promotions embrace different styles, personalities, and presentation rather than trying to make everyone fit the same mold.

“You got to have the variety show.”

“You got to switch it up.”

Road Dogg specifically mentioned performers who stood out because they brought something different to the show, even if they were not positioned as world title contenders.

“Please give me a Chelsea Green.”

“Please give me a Santino Marella.”

According to Road Dogg, not every wrestler should be focused solely on becoming world champion. He believes there is tremendous value in creating entertaining characters throughout the card.

“Everybody wants to be the champion.”

“I disagree with that strongly.”

The WWE Hall of Famer argued that many successful careers have been built by performers who found a unique role and connected with fans rather than chasing a world title.

“There is an hour and 50 minutes of television show in every two-hour wrestling broadcast for an undercard guy to get over.”

“There is an hour and 50 minutes of television for an undercard girl to make a name for themselves.”

Road Dogg also encouraged wrestlers to experiment creatively, warning that playing it safe can prevent talent from discovering what truly connects with an audience.

“You got to try some stuff.”

“You got to be willing to fail.”

“You don’t know which one little stupid thing you and your buddy talked about on the way to the show that day is going to catch on.”

Looking at today’s wrestling landscape, Road Dogg believes the best promotions are the ones willing to embrace a wide variety of characters and stories rather than treating every performer like a future world champion.

“Be different.”

“Dare to be different.”

“Try, try, try. Fail, fail, fail.”

“Go out on a limb so far that it breaks and you bust your ass, get back up there and do it again.”

The federal case involving Shawn Chan, the alleged stalker accused of traveling from Canada to Liv Morgan’s home in Florida before later being arrested at the WWE Performance Center, is currently scheduled to go to trial on Monday, June 15.

The trial is set to begin at 9 a.m. before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa.

The case had originally been expected to proceed in March, but multiple delays pushed the proceedings back.

Court records reportedly list the matter as a stipulated facts bench trial, meaning no jury would be involved and both sides have agreed upon certain facts in an effort to reduce the need for witness testimony.

So, some sort of like Paisley Ray or something like that. So it kind of went with the Kay Lee but they were like, no, you’re a badass. We need something fire.”

On an attempted rib on Tatum Paxley that went wrong: “Tatum, I’m so, so sorry. There was a match that Tatum had a few years ago, and she knows this now, but there’s bags everywhere, everyone’s bags explode, and her shoe had fallen out (of) her bag. I went, oh, and I just put it just up. It was probably like eyeline, and then later on in our match, she ended up getting really hurt, and I found out months later, I was in the locker room, and she started talking about that day, something had happened, and then another thing had happened, and then she lost her shoe, and I was like, ‘oh no,’ and then she went out to the match and got her face bust open, and I was like, ‘I’m really sorry, I have to tell you.’ Because once I put it up, I thought oh that’ll be funny. She’ll look, ‘oh, where is it? Oh, there it is,’ and put it on and no it was actually a lot of a lot bigger deal than that and I feel so (bad), that’s the like the worst one that did not have bad intentions, but worked out in the worst possible way.”

Also during the interview, Kay Lee Ray clarified her WWE departure, revealing that she was not released from the company.

During a recent appearance with Pep Shop Collectibles (see video below), Cartwheel discussed the evolution of AAA under WWE ownership, praising the increased focus on production and the support being provided to talent behind the scenes.

According to Cartwheel, the overall environment is noticeably different from what he experienced during his earlier runs with the company.

“The way that it operates now, in 2026, is definitely different from 2022 and 2023 when I was going originally,” he said. “Just the amount of work that they’ve put into production is amazing, and to the talent, having real WWE coaches there, helping us as AAA talents to put on the best show, the best matches and the best fights that we possibly can, it’s inspiring.”

Cartwheel said the partnership has also given him the opportunity to immerse himself in a style and culture he never expected to be part of earlier in his career.

“And as someone who didn’t know that they would get into Lucha Libre until, you know, it started happening, it’s just so so satisfying to be able to to jump into a world that I didn’t know and to learn and to grow and work at AAA,” he continued. “Yeah. Where there’s Laredo Kid, where there’s TJP, Dragon Lee, and the best luchadors in the world.”

The high-flying standout also offered an encouraging update on his recovery from a dislocated elbow, revealing that despite the severity of the injury, surgery will not be necessary.

That was a major relief.

Cartwheel admitted the initial X-rays painted a frightening picture, but subsequent evaluations confirmed that he could recover without undergoing an operation.

“The X-rays looked insane, so you’d think I’d be out for six months, eight months, something like that, but I’ve been very lucky to not need surgery on the dislocated elbow,” he said. “I have some tendons torn, I have some ligaments torn, but the great news is that I don’t need surgery. I don’t know exactly when I’m coming back yet, but I know I’m not going to be out for six months. I know it’s going to be less than that.”

While he does not have a firm return date, Cartwheel noted that he continues to make steady progress during rehabilitation and is regaining mobility week by week.

“That’s just great news. I’m getting a little more degrees every day. Every week I’m supposed to get one more latch (on his arm brace) further.”

He also spoke during the interview about potential dream opponents and matches down the line.

“Okay. So, yeah, I mean, Je’Von Evans, I would love to have another match with him. Finn Balor is one of my my greats of all time that I want to face. Roman Reigns is another great of all time I would like to face. Are you kidding me? That would be sick. I think it’d be so cool to get to NXT and wrestle with the Vanity Project guys that I got to work on the indies when we were all on (WWE) ID together. Now I’m at AAA, they’re on NXT. But I hope that one day we can merge back.”

He continued, “And that’s just the beginning. I think Kit Wilson and Matt Cardona like Danhausen, Jacob Fatu. I should say Jacob Fatu too because he’s also from this Northern California area along with me that I’ve actually had a match with him on the indies in this area before he got picked up.”

After co-host Conrad Thompson asked whether he expects Foley to wrestle in AEW, Jarrett made his feelings clear.

“There is no way in hell I would bet that he’s not going to pay this off in something.”

Jarrett has known Foley for nearly four decades and described him as someone whose passion for wrestling and storytelling has never faded.

“Mick, we’ve known each other 40 years.”

“He is a lifer.”

While acknowledging Foley’s legendary in-ring career, Jarrett said what stands out most is his ability to emotionally connect with an audience.

“He’s a storyteller.”

“Mick’s going to be able to capture emotion as long as he can breathe.”

Jarrett explained that if Foley does return to the ring, the match itself may not be the most important part of the story. Instead, he believes the journey leading up to the bout could be just as compelling.

“Can he have one last match? Hell yes, he absolutely can.”

“I’m more here for the story on how we’re going to get there and the promos and the meeting and the emotion and what goes on into it.”

Jarrett then began outlining several ideas that could be incorporated into a potential retirement storyline, including Foley’s family, his career struggles, and his rise through the wrestling business.

“I can see Mick doing some Rocky training videos.”

“There’s so many things you can do that are going to be heartfelt.”

“There’s things to bring in family.”

According to Jarrett, Foley’s life story provides more than enough material for a meaningful final run. He pointed to Foley’s early days driving long distances for training, working enhancement matches, and eventually becoming one of the most beloved performers in wrestling history.

“What a journey.”

Jarrett also questioned whether there is another star from Foley’s era whose final match would generate as much interest among longtime wrestling fans.

“If you’re a wrestling fan over the last 20, 30, 40 years, is there an individual that’s walking today that has the career that you would want to see one last match?”

With AEW already planting seeds through Foley’s interaction with MJF at Double or Nothing, Jarrett believes the company has a unique opportunity in front of it.

As reported on Saturday night, the large American flag flying above WWE Headquarters was ripped from the building and became entangled in nearby power lines, ultimately catching fire.

The situation led to significant electrical outages across the area.

According to Eversource, more than 4,000 customers in Greenwich and another 2,700 in Stamford were without power around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

By Monday morning, service had been fully restored.

The impact was felt immediately in Stamford, where approximately 5,000 customers lost electricity. Utility crews were able to restore power to roughly 3,000 of those customers within about 20 minutes, helping to minimize the disruption.

Stamford Deputy Fire Chief Matt Palmer provided additional details on the incident, confirming that the flag was torn from the roof of WWE’s headquarters at approximately 8:44 p.m. Saturday night.

According to Palmer, the flag eventually became lodged on high-voltage power lines located near the Metro-North train tracks at the intersection of Atlantic Street and Manhattan Street, just steps away from Stamford Train Station.

There was little emergency personnel could do once the flag became entangled in the energized lines.

Palmer noted that firefighters primarily monitored the scene while coordinating with power companies responsible for addressing the hazard and restoring service.

WWE relocated to its new headquarters at 707 Washington Boulevard in 2023. The state-of-the-art facility spans approximately 400,000 square feet across 13 stories and serves as the company’s global headquarters.

D-Von admitted that part of the appeal was physical appearance. Like many wrestlers, he wanted a more impressive physique and enjoyed the confidence that came with it.

“One of the reasons why I started using it was because I wanted that body like everybody else does when they watch a professional wrestler.”

“I wasn’t ashamed to take my shirt off in the ring anymore.”

However, D-Von stressed that appearance wasn’t the only factor. He said the demanding wrestling schedule and constant physical punishment also played a major role in his decision.

“We’re on the road 300 days out of the year.”

“There are certain steroids that would help you to recover quicker and faster.”

“It helped me through a lot of ups and downs when I was hurt.”

According to D-Von, the recovery benefits were noticeable almost immediately. He recalled feeling stronger and more energetic than he had in years.

“You get a lot stronger. You’re able to lift more weight.”

“You may be a 30, 40-year-old man and now you feel like you’re 20 again and you have the energy and the strength of a bull.”

The former Dudley Boyz star eventually bulked up to nearly 300 pounds. While he initially enjoyed the transformation, he later realized the additional weight was taking a serious toll on his body.

“I got to be almost 300 lbs.”

“I was jacked up. I was solid.”

“Everything was good. But I didn’t realize putting all that weight and having that big frame like I did hurt my knees tremendously.”

D-Von said the situation worsened as time went on. The extra weight became increasingly difficult to carry, eventually affecting his breathing and forcing him to reconsider whether continuing was worth the risk.

“I’ll be honest with you, it felt horrible.”

“I wasn’t used to carrying that much weight around.”

“When it got to the point where I couldn’t breathe anymore because I was carrying all that weight trying to move around, that was when I realized, you know, maybe you shouldn’t do this anymore.”

“Maybe it should be over.”

Although he was able to walk away from steroid use, D-Von admits it remains one of the decisions he wishes he could take back.

“After three years of using it, I realized that I didn’t need it.”

“I truly regret doing it.”

“I felt like it could have hurt my body in many ways.”

The biggest reason he decided to quit, however, had nothing to do with wrestling. D-Von revealed that his children ultimately changed his perspective.

“My kids. My kids were the reason why.”

As his sons began entering the wrestling business, D-Von wanted to make sure he was setting the right example and could honestly advise them against making the same choices he had made.

“I wanted to set a role model.”

“I sat them down and I had talks with them over and over again, do not do it.”

“Trust me, it’s not going to be good.”

Looking back today, D-Von considers himself fortunate that he avoided the severe health consequences that have affected others who used performance-enhancing drugs.

“There are a lot of things in life that we’re not proud of.”

“That’s one of the things I wish I can go back and change.”

“Thank God nothing happened.”

D-Von also praised modern wrestling’s stricter drug-testing policies and believes today’s generation of wrestlers is in a much healthier position than many performers of the past.

“To me, it’s a lot better now.”

“The drug testing is real.”

For younger wrestlers or athletes considering performance-enhancing drugs, D-Von’s message was simple.

“Stay away from it.”

“There’s other ways that you can get your body to look the way it needs to look without using that stuff.”

“Trust me, you could do without it.”

Although Ray, formerly known as Alba Fyre in WWE, was among the names announced as departing the company earlier this year, she has clarified that her situation was different from many of the talents who were released.

The former NXT UK Women’s Champion made her in-ring return on June 5 for Pro Wrestling EVE in the United Kingdom, just weeks after news of her WWE exit surfaced. Her quick return led some fans to question why she was not subject to WWE’s standard 90-day non-compete clause.

Speaking with Daily Star (see video below), KLR explained that she was never released from her contract. Instead, her deal simply reached its expiration date, allowing her to immediately pursue opportunities elsewhere.

“My contract was up,” KLR said. “And I knew it was coming up and I had the decision of whether I wanted to stay or not. I know some other people got fired and they have the 90 days clause, but because mines was just contract ending, that means I didn’t have the 90 days and I was able to come and do this [Eve show]. And do it as like kind of a surprise but it wasn’t really a surprise. But, yeah, really glad that it worked out this way.”

That distinction explains why Ray was able to step back into the ring almost immediately after leaving WWE, while many other departing talents remain sidelined due to contractual restrictions.

As for her Pro Wrestling EVE return, some fans had hoped to see her involved in a more serious storyline. However, Ray admitted she thoroughly enjoyed participating with the Secret Hervice faction and embraced the lighter side of professional wrestling.

A simple perspective.

When asked to summarize her overall WWE run, Ray offered a positive reflection on her time with the company, emphasizing the enjoyment she found throughout her journey.

“I had fun,” she responded. “Honestly, like, from start to end. I got the job that I wanted to and I had fun while I was doing it with my friends. And now I get to come back and almost start again — yeah, fun.”

Ray signed with WWE in 2019 and went on to capture championship gold in both NXT UK and the main roster ranks.

With her contract now expired and no non-compete restrictions in place, she has already begun the next chapter of her wrestling career on the independent scene.

Road Dogg revealed that despite WWE’s continued success, he had reached a point where he no longer felt he was contributing in a meaningful way.

“I felt like I wasn’t earning it. I was getting a check, but I felt like I wasn’t earning it.”

The former WWE writer and producer also admitted that the enjoyment he once had working in the company had disappeared over time.

“I wasn’t having any fun either.”

“It got to be so much work that it stopped being fun.”

Road Dogg explained that he had considered leaving earlier but remained with the company because of concerns about his future and financial stability.

“I actually stayed longer than I wanted to.”

“Just out of fear of unemployment and fear of like, ‘Oh God, what do I do now?'”

He also spoke candidly about his past struggles with addiction and how those experiences impacted his financial situation.

“I didn’t do well with my money.”

“I’m a drug addict and recovering alcoholic.”

According to Road Dogg, the turning point came during a conversation with his wife that made him reevaluate his priorities.

“My wife told me on the phone, I was about to go into a meeting, and she said, ‘I live with you in a tent.'”

“I said, ‘I’m coming home right now.'”

While discussing WWE’s current business success, Road Dogg made it clear that he is not criticizing the company’s financial performance. In fact, he acknowledged that WWE continues to break records and generate enormous revenue.

“They were firing on all cylinders and making money and record-setting records and breaking them.”

However, he admitted that the company’s direction no longer aligned with what he wanted out of wrestling.

“It felt like WWE right now was a money grab.”

“It didn’t feel right.”

Road Dogg went on to explain that the shift he experienced was less about wrestling and more about the priorities of a publicly traded entertainment company.

“It felt like it turned into the business wrestling instead of the wrestling business.”

Despite his decision to leave, Road Dogg emphasized that he still loves professional wrestling and wants to remain involved in the industry. He said his focus now is on helping smaller promotions and younger talent who are eager to learn.

“I still love wrestling and I want to do wrestling.”

“I’m going to help somebody before this year is up.”

“I want to help somebody that’s smaller and that not only needs the help, but wants the help.”

Looking back, Road Dogg said stepping away from WWE ultimately brought him peace of mind after years of worrying about job security.

“I’ve been nervous job scared for 15 years.”

“And then I quit and it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s all I had to do.'”

According to Kross, the recent cuts were something he anticipated well in advance.

“No, because I saw this coming and I warned everyone. We did, but we didn’t tell everyone. Why wasn’t the locker room together? I made sure everyone knew exactly what was going on,” stated Kross.

Scarlett echoed that sentiment, admitting that while the releases are unfortunate, they are not surprising given the current landscape.

“Yeah. We’re not surprised. I mean, it’s unfortunate. Look, the model has to compliment everyone. I mean, I shouldn’t even get into this, but you guys see what’s going on. I don’t need to paraphrase anything that’s happening. You see what’s happening. What are you gonna do?”

The comments come as WWE continues to reshape its roster amid an ever-changing business environment, with several notable names departing the company in recent months.

Kross also discussed the success he and Bordeaux have experienced since leaving WWE, pointing to a strong and genuine connection with fans as a key factor in maintaining momentum outside the promotion.

One thing he believes wrestling audiences are looking for now more than ever is authenticity.

“Having a relationship and a connection that’s authentic with the audience. It’s very easy. Everyone’s been saying, you know, attention is currency. That’s not the highest currency. Authenticity is the highest currency. And the professional wrestling audience has been starving for it. I tried to talk about this two years ago and pointed it out. Some people didn’t want to hear it. The audience definitely were like, ‘Hey, I think he’s on to something.’ Turns out we were right. Put that on a t-shirt.”
