Former WWE NXT Superstar Damon Kemp, real name Bobby Steveson, shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed on social media on Friday afternoon.
“Survived my first and hopefully last lightning strike,” Steveson wrote as the caption shared alongside the photo on his official Instagram page.
No other details are available regarding the incident itself, or his current condition.
Before stepping into the pro wrestling ring, Bobby Steveson built an impressive amateur wrestling resume. He captured three Minnesota state high school championships and went on to wrestle for the University of Minnesota, qualifying for the NCAA championships in 2017.
Steveson signed with WWE in 2021 under the ring name Damon Kemp. He got his start in the Diamond Mine stable alongside the Creed Brothers, before later joining forces with Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights, and Myles Borne in the No Quarter Catch Crew.
Since parting ways with WWE, Steveson has kept busy on the independent scene, picking up bookings on a handful of indie shows. He’s also branched out creatively, launching a career in country music.
Steveson is the younger brother of Gable Steveson, the Olympic gold medalist who has bounced between the NFL, WWE, and now MMA. Gable’s combat sports journey continues to heat up, as he recently made a successful UFC debut, training under legendary fighter Jon “Bones” Jones.
As always, we will keep you posted here at WrestlingHeadlines.com as updates regarding Bobby Steveson continue to surface.
