Grand Slam 2 remains scheduled to take place Saturday, August 15, at Kokomo Municipal Stadium despite possible rain in the forecast.
Event co-organizer and wrestler Chris Owens addressed the weather concerns Friday in a public Facebook post. Owens said the show is still expected to begin at its scheduled time, although a delay remains possible if conditions change.
“I have people asking about the show tomorrow with the possible rain. The stadium has turf so you don’t have to worry about it being muddy. The show is happening.”
Owens said organizers are monitoring the weather patterns and currently expect the rain to stop before the scheduled 20:00 bell time. Cancellation is not currently expected.
“We are watching the weather patterns closely and it is looking like the rain will stop by the time the show starts. If anything changes, the start time will be delayed a bit but as of today THE SHOW WILL GO ON.”
Gates are scheduled to open at 19:00 at the stadium, located at 400 S. Union Street in Kokomo. Ringside tickets are $25 and general admission is $15. Advance tickets remain available through the official Grand Slam 2 ticket portal.
The announced Grand Slam 2 lineup includes Jake Omen defending the Grand Slam Championship against former student Elijah Eros, The Hardway defending the NWA United States Tag Team Championship against The Trifecta and Owens facing Jacob Brawn. Leela Feist will also return to face Shawna Reed after a broken collarbone prevented her from wrestling at the inaugural event.
Owens encouraged fans to attend and support the wrestlers regardless of the uncertain forecast.
“Come out and make some noise and watch some guys and girls throw each other around.”
