An update has surfaced regarding Jake Hager’s upcoming PowerSlap debut.

After announcing his intentions to make his PowerSlap debut during an interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring in early-March, more information regarding the slap-fighting debut of the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and AEW star has surfaced.

Hager, formerly known as Jack Swagger in WWE, has officially signed with Power Slap, the combat sports promotion founded by TKO executive and UFC President Dana White.

The 44-year-old confirmed earlier this month that he has joined the promotion and is already set for his debut.

And the timing is hard to ignore.

Hager’s first appearance is scheduled for April 17 in Las Vegas, placing him right in the middle of WrestleMania 42 week, just one day before WWE’s two-night premium live event takes over Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and April 19.

That’s quite the spotlight shift.

This week, PowerSlap announced that Hager will be competing in the heavyweight division, and that he will be facing Devin Jenkins at PowerSlap 19 on April 17.
