Jeff Jarrett believes Saturday will emerge as the stronger night of WWE SummerSlam as the company continues using a two-night format for the event.
Speaking on Episode 275 of My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett and Conrad Thompson discussed SummerSlam 2026 and why Saturday finished ahead of Sunday in ticket distribution.
Jarrett, who previously served as WWE Senior Vice President of Live Events, argued that the individual match lineup is becoming less important to fans who commit to traveling for one of WWE’s biggest weekends.
“I think now brand sells. The WWE brand, the SummerSlam brand.”
Jarrett said fans purchasing travel packages are increasingly committing to SummerSlam itself rather than waiting for WWE to reveal a specific match.
“I don’t think any one person that buys those travel packages says, ‘I’m going to hold up on buying the travel packages. I got to see what the card is.’”
That represents a change from the way individual attractions traditionally drove wrestling ticket sales. Jarrett compared the modern SummerSlam experience to attending a major championship sporting event because of the event’s significance rather than one particular participant.
The discussion followed an unusual shift in the 2026 ticket picture. WrestlingHeadlines reported in July that Sunday was initially ahead of Saturday while WWE was dealing with concerns about the overall pace of SummerSlam ticket movement.
Saturday ultimately moved ahead, and Jarrett believes the calendar itself provides an important advantage. Fans traveling to the host city can attend Saturday’s show and use Sunday to return home rather than adding another hotel night or dealing with Monday work obligations.
“I think Saturday night moving forward will always be the number one night.”
Jarrett presented that as a prediction based on event economics and consumer behavior rather than inside information about how WWE intends to position future cards.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has previously described the expanded SummerSlam format as a destination-weekend concept, similar to the company’s approach to WrestleMania.
