Joe Gacy has picked up his first championship since parting ways with WWE.
Gacy, whose current ring name is Joseph Sawyer, recently returned to the independent wrestling scene after wrapping up a nearly six-year run with WWE.
Competing for Xcite Wrestling on Friday night, Sawyer defeated Anthony Gangone to become the new Xcite Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.
The promotion highlighted the title change on social media following the event.
“Joseph Sawyer wins his first championship back,” Xcite Wrestling wrote on X alongside video of the title victory. “He is the new Xcite Wrestling Heavyweight Champion!”
The victory marks Sawyer’s first championship since his departure from WWE.
