AEW women’s division star Kris Statlander took to Twitter earlier today to confirm the rumors that she was injured on last week’s Dynamite taping during her tag bout. Statlander says she’s torn her ACL while performing a dive on Kip Sabian, and will be out of action for quite some time following surgery.
She writes, “Since the news is out. I told you I’d dive on Kip again and dammit I did. But in doing so, I ended up with a high grade tear in my ACL. Yes I need surgery. Yes I’ll be out of the ring for a while. I’ll do my best to still show up on your TVs as much as I can.”
Executive VP and current TNT champion Cody Rhodes responded to Statlander stating, “Kris Statlander is a force! Incredibly skilled. There’s never a good time for an injury, but she won’t be down for too long.”
