The road to WrestleMania 42 took an unexpected detour into the streaming world on Thursday.
Rather than advancing the storyline inside a WWE ring, the latest development played out live during a stream hosted by social media megastar IShowSpeed, continuing the crossover angle that began earlier this week on WWE Raw.
During Raw, Speed inadvertently got involved in the action and shocked fans when he accidentally struck LA Knight with a brass knuckles shot, dropping the outspoken WWE star in the process.
That moment didn’t go unanswered for long.
Knight showed up during Speed’s live stream on Thursday, interrupting the broadcast and confronting him directly. Speed attempted to smooth things over, apologizing and insisting he never intended to get involved in WWE business.
Knight wasn’t interested in hearing it.
In a quick burst of payback, Knight delivered a receipt by grabbing Speed and launching him into his streaming setup, sending equipment flying and abruptly shifting the tone of the broadcast.
The timing added another layer to the chaos. Speed had been in the middle of a challenge where he vowed not to end the stream until someone made him laugh or cry.
Mission accomplished.
Just not how he planned.
The stream ultimately cut off with Speed in tears following the attack, punctuating the segment in dramatic fashion.
As previously reported, the situation is believed to be building toward a potential WrestleMania 42 match pitting IShowSpeed, Logan Paul, and Austin Theory against LA Knight and The Usos.
WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and April 19 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
