Former WWE star Maria Menounos revealed on the most recent episode of WWE Backstage that the USA Network asked if she wanted to be one of the contestants on the 2015 version of Tough Enough. Menounos eventually turned down the offer, but says she suggested Sonya Deville as a suitable candidate.
I was like, ‘I don’t think I can do this, but I know who can. And who would be amazing.’ And we pitched the idea of [Sonya] coming on. I might think I’m tough enough, but I don’t think I can hang guys.
Deville would end up appearing on the show, and was signed to WWE shortly afterwards. Check out the clip below. (H/T and transcribed by Pro Wrestling Sheet)
