Mercedes Moné appears to have sent a message to Willow Nightingale ahead of tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
Just hours before the show, Moné posted a video to social media showing Nightingale being attended to backstage following an apparent attack. While the attack itself was not shown, Moné strongly implied that she was responsible.
Moné then addressed Nightingale ahead of their AEW Women’s World Championship match at All In.
“In two weeks at All In, I’m going to take away that damn smile once and for all,” Moné said. “Three years. I have been waiting for this moment for three years. And nobody’s gonna take it away from me. Nobody.”
Moné is scheduled to challenge Nightingale for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW All In on Sunday, August 30, at Wembley Stadium in London.
The match comes three years after Nightingale defeated Moné in the finals of the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship tournament in May 2023.
Moné suffered an ankle injury during that match.
Tonight’s AEW Dynamite will take place from the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
