Mickie James has named three potential opponents she would like to see Nick Aldis step into the ring with in WWE.
During his run as WWE SmackDown General Manager, Aldis has had his share of tense encounters with members of the blue brand roster, including Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. His issues with GUNTHER ultimately became physical, leading to Aldis making his WWE in-ring debut against “The Ring General” at SummerSlam.
While speaking with MuscleManMalcolm for a new interview (see video below), James was asked which WWE Superstars she would like to see her husband square off against in the future.
“My gosh, well, I thought that he was gonna wrestle Randy for a long time. I would love to see that, you know? God, there’s so many. I think that they could run back to him and Cody Rhodes with all the story there, you know? Yeah. It was so great. That whole, you know, and then even the follow-up match, that was a great match. So there’s that, and then there’s obviously the history with him and Drew.”
Aldis and Rhodes famously crossed paths outside of WWE, with Rhodes defeating Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at the original All In event in 2018. Aldis regained the title from Rhodes in their rematch at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show later that year.
Aldis also has extensive history with McIntyre from their respective runs outside of WWE, while his on-screen interactions with Orton during his time as SmackDown General Manager have repeatedly teased the possibility of the two eventually settling things inside the ring.
