Some early spoilers have surfaced regarding tonight’s highly-anticipated episode of WWE SmackDown.
Heading into the August 21 show at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, live at 8/7c on the USA Network (North America) and Netflix (international), some early plans for the show have found their way online.
According to one source, a promo segment featuring Sami Zayn will open tonight’s blue brand show. As noted recently, Zayn has been out of action due to what is reported to be a legitimate injury.
To the surprise of no one, the expected main event of the 8/21 WWE on USA Friday night prime time program, is CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens in Owens’ hometown.
In between the opener and closer are some other high-profile matches and segments, with The MFTs vs. Damian Priest & R-Truth for the WWE Tag-Team Championships expected to be the opening match this evening.
Giulia vs. Blake Monroe is the second match scheduled for the show in what will be Monroe’s SmackDown in-ring debut. Also planned for the show is a segment involving Trick Williams, as well as the latest from Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton on their respective roads to WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, GA.
