According to the Wrestling Observer, New Japan Pro Wrestling continues to pay it’s talent and staff despite a lack of revenue from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis that forced the promotion to postpone all events through May. Anyone under contract is still receiving salary and full benefits.
The report also states that NJPW is feeling the financial effects of not being able to run live events as over half of their income comes from ticket and merchandise sales. They are still bringing in a small amount from online merchandise sales but they fracture in comparison. However, the company has made it known that their priority is to take care of their staff and their fans.
