NJPW In Talks With Viceland For U.S. Television?

According to the Wrestling Observer, communications have opened between New Japan Pro Wrestling and the Vice Media owned Viceland channel. Since NJPW’s departure from AXS TV the promotion has been looking for a new television partner in the United States, especially with their newly launched USA brand. Reports are that it will not be an easy process as the NJPW footage is owned by Japanese network TV-Asahi, who originally struck up a deal with AXS.

Viceland is best known to wrestling fans as the host of the Dark Side of the Ring series which chronicles some of pro-wrestling’s most tragic stories, including the murder of Bruiser Brody, the relationship between Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth, and the infamous Montreal Screwjob. A second season is in the works with the much anticipated coverage on the Chris Benoit murder/suicide story.

Stay tuned.
