Paige is calling out an airport scalper who took things a little too far.
The former WWE Divas Champion took to social media to detail an encounter with someone who was waiting for her at the gate of a connecting flight with dozens of photos for her to sign.
“Airport scalpers are morphing,” Paige wrote. “Had someone waiting for me as I was getting off the plane at the gate of my connecting flight with like 30 pictures. I’m easy going with this stuff but pulling up to my gate is fucking weirdo behavior. Don’t do that.”
One fan questioned how the individual was able to get through airport security without traveling, asking whether scalpers are actually purchasing plane tickets in an effort to gain access to wrestlers beyond security.
Paige confirmed that appeared to be exactly what happened.
“Yes exactly,” she responded. “It was my connecting so I wasn’t coming to baggage claim. He probably thought he could make that money back and more thinking I was gonna sign all those pics at my landing gate. He probably thought it was gonna be worth it. It wasn’t.”
Wrestlers have increasingly spoken out about encounters with autograph resellers at airports and other travel locations, particularly those who arrive with large quantities of merchandise or photos to be signed.
