It was revealed on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown that Paul Heyman will now be in the corner of Roman Reigns.
According to the Wrestling Observer, this move was not just done to give Reigns more of a heel edge in his return, but as a reason to justify Heyman’s large performer contract with the company. Reports are that Heyman was at one point under two contracts with WWE while he was the executive director for Raw, but went back to just one contract when he was relieved of that position. Heyman’s contract is supposedly so big that WWE felt the need to justify him being there by pairing him with one of their top acts in Reigns while Lesnar is gone.
Heyman had not been seen since WrestleMania 36, when Drew McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE champion.
