During last week’s Stadium Stampede match at AEW Double or Nothing there was a spot between Proud and Powerful and Matt Hardy involving a pool, where The Inner Circle members attempted to drown The Broken One, but came up short as he transformed into different versions of his character. Some criticized AEW for the spot following the death of former WWE star Shad Gaspard, who tragically drowned after saving his son from a tidal wave.
Matt’s wife Reby Hardy fired back at one particular critic on social media. She writes, “Matt has *MAGICALLY TRANSFORMED* in water as part of a GIMMICK for over 5YRS now & this moron wants to try it. Shad was OUR FRIEND. We been heartbroken & shook tf up since it happened YOU DIDNT EVEN FUCKING KNOW HIM. Stop the faux outrage & fuck ALL THE WAY OFF. A fucking REACH.”
