TNA Wrestling returns tonight.
TNA iMPACT takes place this evening at 9/8c from Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
The Nemeths Kick Things Off
Starting with the Nemeths is usually a pretty good way to do it. Nic and Ryan won the TNA Tag Titles from the Hardys at Lockdown, making Nic a double champion and the first since Kurt Angle 20 years ago to hold the world and tag belts at the same time. After the Lockdown match, Leon Slater cashed in his newly-won X-Division title under “Option C” to book a date with Nic for the World Title at Bound For Glory.
Ryan started off the segment by declaring the Nemeths the greatest family in the history of wrestling. Nic then said he was now above the law and can buy is way out of anything. He then turned his attention to Leon Slater. Nic sarcastically said that all the kids out there, like Slater, should follow their dreams and bet on themselves… unless it’s against him!
Leon Slater then came out and said that he wasn’t looking to steal the spotlight, he just wanted to look Nic in the eyes and tell him how it’s going to go down. Slater said that he gets things done and what he’s going to get done is becoming the youngest World Champion in TNA history.
Slater then said that the Nemeth’s tag belts were looking real nice and oddly enough, he and Ricky Sosa have been teaming over the last few months and have not lost a match. That brought Sosa out, but Ryan cut him off. He said that Daria will never give them a title shot, and that brought out hometown hero and Director of Authority, Santino Marella.
Marella said that Daria didn’t have to allow it because he will. He then made the match, Leon Slater and Ricky Sosa vs The Nemeths for the TNA Tag titles tonight.
-Off of that, Order 4 was in the back and the VP of Strategic affairs said that Mustafa Ali is still hospitalized from Lockdown. So, he put John Skyler in his place in a tag match later in the evening with Agent 0 against Jason Hotch and Trey Miguel. They also noted that with Ali not around, Skyler is the acting leader of Order 4.
Elijah vs. Bear Bronson w/Bryan Meyers
I can only assume this match is happening because they both happened to show up to work tonight. Meyers jawed all the way down to the ring about how the System won Lethal Lockdown and they allegedly can’t be beaten. Elijah showed up with his light up guitar and looked pretty good for a guy who walked from Chicago to Brampton.
They locked up off the top with Bronson going right to brawling. Elijah hit him with a flying clothesline and then walked with the Undertaker and clubbed his arm. Elijah then pulled Bronson to the edge of the apron and smashed his head against it. Elijah went to run around the ring, but Meyers cut him off, distracting him long enough for Bronson to dive between the ropes and take him out.
Back in the ring, Bronson dropped an elbow from the turnbuckle. Elijah came back with a dropkick. Bronson hit a sidewalk slam for a two count. They traded chops, slugging it out in the middle of the ring until Elijah hit a pair of superkicks. He missed on a knee strike and Bronson caught him with a chokebomb.
Bronson went for a suplex but his arm gave out and Elijah hit him with an Alabama Slam. Elijah dispatched Meyers who was trying to get involved and then delivered the Highwayman’s Farewell to Bronson for the victory.
Match Result: Elijah defeated Bear Bronson
After the match, the rest of the System arrived and beat up Elijah 4-on-1+Alisha.
-Back from break, Elayna Black joined us from the basement of That 70’s Show. She said that she is proud of her performace at Lockdown, but is disappointed she didn’t win the Knockouts Title against Xa Brookside. She wondered if this was Karma, but knows that she was doing this as a role model and to show that she has a mission and she will get there to achieve it.
Jason Hotch & Trey Miguel vs Order 4 (John Skyler & Special Agent 0)
Hotch and Skyler continued being hesitant to engage one another, but Zero and Miguel had no such qualms. The Match moved forward at a slow place with a move here and a move there leading to quick tags.
During the commercial break picture-in-picture, it looked like Hotch might have hurt himself. Miguel and Skyler checked on him, but Zero didn’t care and threw him into the ring. He worked him over single handedly with stomps and shots in the corner. Mila Moore also took a turn choking Hotch on the ropes.
Back from the break, Zero flattened Hotch with a swinging face slam. Hotch started a comeback, but Zero cut him off from tagging Miguel with a bear hug. Hotch bit his way out of it and hit a chinbreaker before getting that tag to Miguel. Miguel flew in and cleared the ring including an insiguri to Skyler.
Miguel went up top, but Zero pulled Skyler out of the way. Hotch came in to help, but Zero went to kick him and nailed Skyler. Hotch and Zero moved to the outside where Hotch threw him into the ringpost. Miguel hit a meteora on Skyler and pinned him for the win.
Match Result: Trey Miguel & Jason Hotch defeated Order 4
After the match, a bed-ridden Mustafa Ali appeared on the screen. He congratulated Hotch for putting him in the hospital by fracturing his ribs at Lockdown. Ali said that he and Hotch have taken this too far and too many people are getting hurt. Ali proposed a truce and Hotch should re-join Order 4. Ali said that the choice was Hotch’s and the feed cut, leaving Hotch in the ring with a decison to make.
-Backstage the Righteous approached BDE and Rich Swann. They wanted to know if BDE had considered their offer. Swann said that they should get the hell out of there. Dutch said that he and BDE should go one-on-one and Vincent said that when he loses he should reconsider their offer.
-Back from break, Avery Styles was interviewed in the back about his signing with TNA. He said it’s been “awesome.” Moose wandered in and congratulated him on his contract. Moose advised him to be careful who he associates with. He suggested Styles stay away from Frankie Kazarian which instantly caused Kaz to show up and tell Moose to shut up. Kaz said he’s looking out for Styles and Moose should stay out of his ear.
TNA Knockouts Television Championship Tournament Finals: Jada Stone vs M by Elegance w/The Elegance Brand
Last week, we were denied an All-Elegance final when Heather was defeated by Stone. M by Elegance got to the final with wins over Rosemary and Indi Hartwell, as well as a bye to the semi’s when Wendy Choo and Elayna Black went to it’s 10-minute time limit. In addition to Heather, Stone defeated Alisha Edwards and Jody Threat to get here. The winner of this title will defend it exclusively on Impact going forward.
After brief duelling “I’m going to win, you’re not” pretaped promos and introductions, the match was on. M had a serious height advantage over Stone, but Stone has a lot of speed and agility to count it with. They traded nearfalls to start off and Stone sent M to the corner for some elbows.
Stone hit a missle dropkick to the face and then a standing moonsault for a two count and M rolled out of the ring. When Stone got close, she grabbed her ankle and wheelbarrow suplexed her onto the apron (the most Elegant part of the ring!). Tossing her back inside, M slowed the pace down with some clubbing strikes. She hit a falcon arrow on Stone, but could only get a two count.
M whipped Stone off the turnbuckles while Mr Elegance sparkled in the background. Stone tried a crossbody off the ropes, but M caught her and turned it into a fallaway slam. M started working the shoulder of Stone, that had athletic tape on it after Lockdown. M hit a dropkick and bounced Stone’s head off the turnbuckles.
M hit a big boot followed by a Tower of Elegance, but Stone kicked out of the cover at two. M went up top for a moonsault, but Stone moved and then dodged a follow up pump-kick. Stone’s comeback continued with a headscissor takedown and then a dropkick followed by a 619.
She hit a rolling double stomp into a cradle, but M kicked out at two. Stone went for a Spark Stunner but M countered. Stone went up top but M grabbed her for a standing Blue Thunder Bomb and a Superkick. She put Stone on her shoulders, but Stone got out of it, tripping her and hitting an uppercut.
Stone went up top again for a moonsault, but M got the knees up. She hit a dumping Powerbomb and then went up top, but Stone hit her with a superkick and hit a spanish fly from the top turnbuckle. Stone went for the split-legged moonsault, landing it and going for a cover, but M got her foot on the ropes.
M caught Stone off of a Spark Stunner attempt and dropped her between her knees in something of a rollup slam. The ref made the count and just like that M By Elegance is the inaugural TNA Knockouts TV Champion.
Match Result: M by Elegance defeated Jada Stone
-Back from break, Matt Hardy was being loaded into an ambulance with a worried Jeff going with him. This adds him to the list of people mysteriously taken out backstage.
Indi Hartwell then came to the ring to address the crowd. She said she was mad that Daria Rae said that she doesn’t deserve a title shot. Hartwell said that she’s been obsessed with wrestling since she was 8 years old and there’s no plan b for her. She’s given it her all and has never been more ready.
That brought out Daria Rae and her shoulder pads. She called Hartwell “horribly mediocre.” She said that Hartwell doesn’t deserve anything for being “obsessed” with wrestling. Rae said that Hartwell isn’t a draw and she should take her underperforming self back to catering.
Hartwell called her “Diarrhea” which the crowd started chanting because we are all 10 years old. Hartwell said that Rae has gotten soft and Rae said she would kick her ass back to kangaroo land if she ever got in the ring with her. Hartwell said that just because Rae’s career was a failure, she shouldn’t take that out on everyone else.
Rae then turned to leave but Zoey Serrano (FKA Zoey Stark) arrived and jumped Hartwell from behind. Rae introduced her as TNA’s newest Knockout and they shook hands.
-Back from a break, fellow Daria Rae target Harley Hudson approached Indi Hartwell and assured her that she’s got her back. Then Xia Brookside wandered by and mocked Hartwell for thinking that she deserved a shot at the Knockouts title. Santino arrived and said that he could make the match if Rae wouldn’t. Then Rae showed up and said that she took tonight’s business to he board who will punish Hartwell. So Santino made a tag match: Hartwell and Hudson vs Brookside and Serrano.
