Several newsworthy developments came out of Sunday night’s TNA Lockdown pay-per-view.
Kiera Hogan is officially back with TNA. Hogan returned at Lockdown as Allie’s partner, with the duo successfully defending the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships against Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance. Hogan scored the winning fall on M, and TNA later announced that she has officially signed with the company.
Mustafa Ali became a two-time TNA International Champion by defeating Jason Hotch inside the cage. The match included continued tension within Order 4, particularly between Ali, Tasha Steelz and John Skyler. Ali ultimately put Hotch away with a 450 splash to regain the championship. Afterward, Skyler confronted Ali over his actions during the match.
Leon Slater also regained championship gold, defeating Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing cage match to become TNA X-Division Champion once again. Slater was facing the added stipulation that a loss would result in his previous TNA records being erased.
The Nemeth Brothers captured the TNA World Tag Team Championships in the Lockdown main event, defeating The Hardys. Nic Nemeth pinned Matt Hardy to secure the victory, making Nic both the reigning TNA World Champion and one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
Following the main event, Slater confronted Nic Nemeth, setting up a TNA World Championship match between the two for Bound for Glory.
TNA also announced an additional match for the post-Lockdown edition of iMPACT on Thursday, August 27. Jason Hotch and Trey Miguel will team against Mustafa Ali and Special Agent Zero. The show will also feature M by Elegance against Jada Stone in the finals of the TNA Knockouts Television Championship tournament.
Finally, Avery Styles officially “crossed the line” at Lockdown. The son of AJ Styles appeared during the show and announced that he has signed with TNA. Frankie Kazarian then joined Styles in the ring to congratulate him before warning the newcomer about the TNA locker room and telling Avery that Kazarian is someone he can trust.
