This Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, The Best Friends will be putting their number one contendership for the tag team titles on the line against Le Sex Gods, aka Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara. Some fans questioned why Chuck and Trent would risk giving up their title opportunity, even calling out Tony Khan for an answer.

Khan would respond to one such instance writing, “They could’ve waited for the title shot at Fyter Fest. They wanted a match v. Jericho on Dynamite after Chris injured @orangecassidy last week, Jericho agreed only if they risk the title shot. #LeSexGods are qualified (4-2, only team unbeaten v. Kenny/Hangman) so I sanctioned it.”
