John Cena may be retired from in-ring competition, but he won’t be staying away from WWE for long.
It was announced this week that John Cena will return at WrestleMania 42, where he is set to serve as the official host of the two-night premium live event.
The reveal marks Cena’s first WWE appearance since his retirement match against Gunther on December 13.
The news has already sparked reactions from within the WWE locker room.
Appearing on Unsportsmanlike, Trick Williams was asked about Cena’s return in a non-wrestling role, and he didn’t hold back with a lighthearted response.
“I guess retirement is hard, sometimes,” Williams said. “We’re glad that he’s going to be back.”
Short and to the point.
Williams continued, making it clear just how much Cena’s presence still means to the roster and fans alike.
“We know that everybody loves John Cena. I’m glad he’s back. We’re going to have a good time. It means a lot to us.”
As for Williams, he’ll have his own major spotlight at WrestleMania weekend. He is currently scheduled to challenge Sami Zayn for the WWE United States Championship at the show.
WrestleMania 42 is set to take place across two nights on April 18 and April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
