Trick Williams has his sights set on a potential showdown with Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk.
Speaking during an appearance on ESPN Houston (see video below), the former WWE United States Champion spoke highly of Punk and admitted that sharing the ring with the veteran would be a dream opportunity. Williams praised Punk’s legacy in the business and said he wants to learn from performers who have already cemented themselves as legends.
“Oh yeah, for sure. I mean, nothing but respect for CM Punk,” Williams said. “He’s a GOAT.”
Williams continued by explaining why a match against Punk is so appealing to him.
“And any time you can share the ring with somebody who’s just done legendary things, had legendary moments, you want to sit next to legends as much as possible,” he said. “I would love that match with CM Punk.”
The two stars briefly crossed paths backstage on the July 31 episode of WWE SmackDown, where Punk confronted Williams after the latter teased that he intended to pursue the Undisputed WWE Championship in the future.
