WWE has taken another step that appears to point toward Lola Vice joining the company’s main roster.
The company filed a trademark for the term “Vice City” on August 4, the same night Vice lost to NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey in an Underground match on NXT. Following the bout, Vice addressed the crowd and said goodbye to the brand before sharing an emotional moment backstage with Damian Priest.
Vice, whose real name is Valerie Loureda, joined WWE after a successful run in Bellator MMA. A Miami native of Cuban heritage, her ring name and the “Vice City” branding are both references to her hometown.
The trademark filing covers a wide range of entertainment-related services associated with WWE performers, including live wrestling appearances, broadcasts, online content, fan club services, newsletters and sports entertainment information.
The official description included in WWE’s filing reads as follows:
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
