WWE Changing Original Plans for Big Show’s RAW Return?, Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade Feud Update

As noted last week, Rey Mysterio dropped the WWE United States Title to Andrade last month because of a plan to move Rey into the top feud on the RAW brand, which was Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins and The Authors of Pain. As noted, Buddy Murphy was put into that feud last night after he helped Rollins and AOP defeat Big Show, Owens and Joe in a six-man Fist Fight main event. Show made his return to WWE last week, for his first appearance in more than a year, to help Owens and Joe. Rey is still feuding with Andrade, and that feud will continue into next week’s RAW as Andrade defends his title in a Ladder Match.

In an update, it was noted on Wrestling Observer Radio how Rey is still expected to join the top red brand babyfaces in the feud against Rollins and his “disciples,” as they were referred to by WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler on RAW. Rey is still feuding with Andrade until Andrade is ready for his next feud against a top RAW babyface, and no title change is expected next week as Rey vs. Andrade is continuing just to fill time.

Big Show was not meant to have any longterm involvement in the RAW main event scene. Show was brought back to help them get through the feud while Rey still feuds with Andrade. However, Big Show may be sticking around longer than planned because the babyfaces will still be short a Superstar once Rey joins the storyline.

Show took a low blow from Murphy, a double powerbomb from AOP, and a Stomp from Rollins during the finish to last night’s Fist Fight. The match was then called as Joe and Owens were also taken out near the stage by AOP. This likely was not done to write Show off TV, as has been speculated by some. Show should be involved for the next few weeks.
