John Cena, AJ Styles and The Bloodline SegmentÂ
John Cena: For those watching at home, welcome to another sold out Friday Night SmackDown. I needed to come out here and start this show tonight because since you’d allowed me to come home, I’ve been able to do a lot of things. I’ve been a talk show guest. I’ve been a host. I’ve been a backstage correspondent. I’ve been a referee. An official, a figure who enforces the rules in a match. I’m out, that’s all, you guys win. And my journeys, they’ve taken me to Hershey, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh. Denver, Colorado. And all of those SmackDown’s and premium live events, they’ve all been sold out, but it’s not like tonight, no. You see, tonight is a very special night. I wanted to be the first to tell you how special it is. It’s going to be different.
Because I don’t want to be a ref, a host, an official, a backstage correspondent. I came back to WWE to compete, and I feel that tonight is the night I would like to have a match. Admittedly, I’m getting on with years, and they say the hearing is the first thing to go. I know I listen to the WWE Universe, so I got to ask you for your permission. Is tonight a good night to have a match? Well, thank you for the energy because I’ll tell you, I’m not just excited, I’m actually also angry at The Bloodline. Yeah, I’m angry enough to fight both of them, myself. But as luck would have it, I think I found myself a tag team partner. A man who’s just as angry as me, I think I found myself a phenomenal partner.
