Kassius Ohno joined a long list of people who were released last week as a result of budget cuts during the Coronavirus pandemic. He was viewed more as a player-coach that would teach talent backstage due to his decades of experience. A lot of people were very high on him because of how much he would teach them and was considered by many to be in a “big brother” role.
Ohno was likely released last week on the same night as everyone else, but it wasn’t reported until the weekend. The WWE isn’t going as public with their NXT releases as they are main roster talent. He was previously being used in the NXT UK brand.
