There is an update on Adam Cole and it is concerning.

The top AEW superstar has been out of action since the Forbidden Door pay-per-view this past summer, where the former NXT triple-crown champion suffered a nasty concussion during the Fatal-Four Way IWGP World Title matchup featuring Jay White, Kazuchika Okada, and Adam “Hangman” Page.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Cole is still not 100%, and there is some concern that he might never be able to return due to how bad the concussion was. There is no confirmation in the report, just speculation by Meltzer, who talked in-depth about how serious a concussion injury can be.

Cole did return to television to complete the break-up storyline of the Undisputed Elite, which saw him, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish attack the Young Bucks prior to the return of Kenny Omega. Cole only delivered offense in this encounter. This was done to eventually set up a matchup, but that never happened due to Cole’s injury. Bobby Fish is now no longer with AEW, and O’Reilly is recovering from an injury of his own.

We will keep you updated on Cole’s condition. For context…AEW President Tony Khan said in an interview with the New York Post that Cole was cleared to compete, but that he didn’t want to push his return before he was completely healed.
