Double jump dragonrana by Komander but Jericho holds on and locks in the Liontamer. Komander taps!

Winner: Chris Jericho

Rating: ***.  Jericho continues to give the younger guys nearly everything, but a good win for Jericho in the end here. Lots of “holy s” spots if that’s your thing, but that Liontamer on a guy like Komander looks so good.

Don Callis is here and shows some footage himself with Chris Jericho and their mentor Bad News Allen (aka Bad News Brown) as the Thrillseekers from 1995. Bad News told them to stick together, and Jericho is thinking about it.

Jungle Boy tries to find and or murder Jack Perry in the back, but Perry escapes.

Renee Paquette is in the back with Don Callis. Callis says Jericho is a fabulous athlete but tonight he’s going to make the announcement on who the fifth member is of the Blackpool Combat Club for Blood & Guts.

The MJF & Adam Cole team bonding video is here. Both guys are at the bar and MJF is upset that Cole isn’t wearing their shirt. MJF sees a few women but Cole REALLY cares about Britt Baker. MJF thinks Cole is brave, but it’s “four more for daddy.” Amazing. Cole is drunk by this point and says he’ll wear the shirt if they do what Cole wants to do next. MJF agrees.

MJF says he doesn’t want to play video games like some weeboo virgin nerd but does anyway. Both guys wind up having a ton of fun and MJF says video games are kind of fun when you have someone to play with… because he never had a lot of friends. Cole says he had every intention of turning on MJF but he’s actually a pretty cool guy. MJF said he was going to do the same thing! Both guys agree they like each other and want to win the tag titles.

Match #2. Blind Tag Team Eliminator: Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara & Darby Allin

Guevara mocks Cassidy but gets arm dragged for his troubles so Garcia blasts him from behind. Darby and Guevara are legal but they hit heads off the ropes. Uranage by Garcia to Cassidy on the apron. Flying knee by Guevara but misses the Shooting Star Press. Garcia locks in the Dragontamer on the outside as Prince Nana shows up and hands Garcia the skateboard to use on Cassidy. The referee intervenes and Swerve Strickland hits the stomp on the back of Darby’s head behind the ref’s back as Guevara wakes up and hits the GTH for the pin.

Winners: Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia

Rating: ***1/4. All four guys are so familiar with each other they could have had this match in their sleep, but this was a heck of a lot of fun. The Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara storyline is nice undertone.

Adam Cole is here with Renee, but he’s clearly on the phone with Britt. Roderick Strong shows up and wonders if Cole is really starting to like MJF? Cole says he’s actually not a bad guy, as he gets a text from MJF that reads:

“I just saw Brian Cage walk by. I think I have the flu.”

Match #3. Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament: Brian Cage & Big Bill vs. MJF & Adam Cole

MJF really leaning into it and slapping fan’s hands and holding up their signs is just tremendous. Cole and Cage start. Cage does push ups and hits the double bicep. Cole does the same. Bill and MJF tag themselves in and Bill challenges MJF to do push ups, which he does, and Bill boots him in the back of the head and then boots Cole off the apron. Stereo superkicks to the knee and to the face of Bill but Cage hits a double clothesline of his own. Fall away slam/Samoan drop by Cage to BOTH MJF and Cole. Cage is on the apron and Cole superkicks him which allows MJF to hit the Heat Seeker. Cole gets the quick tag and he Lowers the Boom. That’ll do it!

Winners: MJF & Adam Cole

Rating: **1/2. The match was fine, but the story, the crowd, and everything else really made this. Cole and MJF together are $, however I wish we didn’t have to see Cage take the pin.

MJF and Cole grab mics, and MJF wants to know if there are any devil worshippers in the house tonight? “Wow, I am super over.” “Do the thing” – ADAM COLE, BAYBAY. Cole says he never expected this tag team to work, but they’re doing pretty damn good. Cole didn’t have high expectations for the team, but he does expect to win the tournament. When Cole and MJF win, they get a shot at the tag team titles on July 29th in Connecticut.

Jake Hager heads into Chris Jericho’s locker room and wants to know what the deal is. Jericho says that Callis has actually made some good points, and Hager hands in his bucket hat.

Hip attack by Blue in the corner and both women are quickly on the apron. Ruby looks for the STO but Blue reverses with a headlock driver. Blue rebounds with a Code Blue attempt but Ruby holds on, repositions, and synchs in a single leg crap. Blue crawls to the bottom rope and gets there. Skye Fall by Blue out of nowhere gets two. Blue goes up to the top and Ruby uses the referee as a distraction before pulling Blue off into No Future for the win.

Winner: Ruby Soho

Rating: **1/2. Most of the match happened during the PIP unfortunately, but what we saw after that was pretty darn good. Blue is improving week after week and is capable of producing really good matches with talent at Ruby’s level.

Match #5. Nick Wayne vs. Swerve Strickland

Knuckle lock and Wayne kicks Swerve off and tries to connect on about five different strikes but both men catch nothing but air. Tieres and a diving back elbow by Wayne. Fisherman’s suplex by Wayne, with a bridge, gets two. Wayne hits the ropes but Nana trips him up. Swerve gets sent to the apron but Wayne reverses and hurricanas Swerve to the floor. Swerve sets Wayne up on the top rope and looks for.. well I’m not sure, but Darby Allin is here on the ramp to cheer Wayne on. Back suplex off the top attempt by Swerve but Wayne coutners into an avalanche poisonrana! Wayne’s World by Wayne! One, two, no! Swerve gets his boot on the bottom rope at the last second. Both men on top rope now and Wayne looks for an avalanche hurricanrana but Swerve powerbombs him off the top! Swerve Kick gets a 2.9999! Swerve looks to snap the shoulder and does! Aubrey checks on Wayne but Swerve doesn’t care and the JML Driver finishes this one.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Rating: ***3/4. What a match and what an introduction for the young Nick Wayne. Wayne got a chance to show off what he’s capable of but the veteran Swerve used his ruthlessness to pull this one out. I was worried they would have Swerve lose here but the injection of Darby helped everything.

Don Callis is here to announce the fifth member for team Blackpool Combat Club at Blood & Guts. Omega is an ingrate who deserves the abuse, a coward, and a punk.

Enter Kenny Omega.

Konosuke Takeshita and Jon Moxley cut Omega off before he makes it to the ring, and here’s Pac! Pac is back! All four men put the boots to Omega in the ring as Pac grabs the mic.

“Kenneth, you have no idea how long I’ve waited for this!” Pac reminds us that Omega shattered his face and Pac is the fifth member, as Omega will now pay the price. Moxley puts a chair around Omega’s neck and Pac goes up top for the Black Arrow. Moxley gives Omega the mic and tells them to check the screen for their fifth members.

The fifth member for Team Elite is…

Kota Ibushi! The Golden Elite!

The lights go back on and the Young Bucks and Page are here and it’s a superkick party and a double Buckshot.

Omega says people like the BCC consumed with rage will never prosper, and Callis and company will never succeed. Omega says once all five members of the BCC are down and out, he’s coming for Callis.

GOODBYE AND GOODNIGHT!

Final Thoughts: There is so much that’s happened on this show, but it never felt like it was too much… if that makes sense. MJF and Adam Cole are over the top entertaining, BCC vs. Elite gave us a few nice surprises tonight and next week’s Blood & Guts should be something special, Jericho possibly joining The Callis Family, the Owen Hart Cup’s coming to a close… and so much more. People might think AEW has too many shows now, but there are a ton of storylines going on and so far none of them feel overexposed. Entertaining stuff tonight and while I would have liked to see Ibushi in person, the video package worked for the segment. Buckle up for next week! 8/10 .
