Running Destroyer by Mistico and an around the world head scissors into La Mistica (Fujiwara arm bar). Rocky taps!

Winner: Mistico

Rating: ***1/2. If you like lucha libre, you’ll enjoy this one. Mistico made his AEW debut here and the crowd enjoyed the heck out of it. Lots of the big spots here but it didn’t feel overdone. Rocky is such a professional, too. Good stuff.

Stokely Hathaway is in the back with Eddie Kingston, Jay Lethal, and company. Lethal says Homicide was never that good and he wants to take the ROH Championship. Stokely says if Jeff Jarrett beats Kingston, Lethal gets the shot. Concession stand brawl in Memphis. Eddie will eat Jarrett alive.

Match #2. AEW International Championship Number One Contender’s Match: Isiah Kassidy vs. John Silver w/ The Dark Order vs. Kip Sabian w/ Butcher, Blade, & Penelope Ford

Joined in progress here as we come back from break. Asai moonsault by Kassidy to the outside and an over the top stunner to Sabian inside the ring. Silver with a running enziguiri inside the ring to Kassidy and a military press to Sabian, before lawn darting him into Sabian’s lower parts. German suplex with a bridge to Sabian gets two for Silver. Arabian Press to the outside by Sabian. Kassidy hits a big plancha on everyone on the outside and a huge swanton bomb back inside the ring to Sabian. Silver breaks up the pin with a running punt to the side of the head and covers Kassidy for the win.

Winner: John Silver

Rating: **1/4. Somewhat rushed triple threat match here. Match was fine, but I appreciate AEW at least pretending someone had to win something to get an International Championship shot.

Santana vs. Ortiz is next week!

Match #3. Blackpool Combat Club vs. Bryan Keith & Exodus Prime

Keith backs Yuta up with some chops and elbows in the corner. Yuta catches a charging Keith and hits a German suplex. Manhattan Drop to Prime and a dropkick to Keith that sends him to the floor. Seated Dragon Sleeper back inside the ring by Ruby. Ruby takes Blue to the outside and roughs her up around the ringside area, as Saraya cheers on. Double clothesline back inside the ring and both women try to fight to their feet. Running clotheslines by Blue and a fishhook. Elbow by Blue and a running knee on the ropes. Rebound kick by Blue. Skyefall is countered by Ruby, but countered by blue into neckbreaker for two. Blue hits the ropes and Saraya trips her up, allowing Ruby to connect with a Saito suplex. Two count. Ruby goes up top but Blue counters with a powerbomb out of the corner. Saraya gets on the apron and distracts Blue, allowing Ruby to hit No Future. Two count! Back slide by Skye gets two. Big knee to the face by Skye, who looks for Skyefall but Ruby sends Blue into ropes and Saraya hits her with the spray can, twice… kind of. Ruby rolls her up for the win.

Winner: Ruby Soho

Rating: **1/2. Match was going pretty well and Blue looked strong in defeat, but the finish didn’t do favors for anyone. Blue and Willow’s slow burn here is interesting, but it would be nice for Ruby to have something to do, too.

The Outcasts jump Skye Blue after the bell, but Statlander is here to make the save.

Final Thoughts: Awesome average episode of Dynamite. No real star power on this week’s show, but the matches were fine. Four hours of TV in two days for AEW, so we’ll get what we get here. The pending Skye Blue heel turn was fun but the rest of the show just kind of feels like it’s there. 6/10.
