From the TD Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts!

Match #1. Royal Rampage

Two ring situation here. Nick Wayne, Swerve, Darby Allin, and Jay Lethal are our first four opponents. Darby and Lethal team up in one ring, as Wayne and Swerve are in the other. Entrant number five is MINORU SUZUKI. Darby waits for Suzuki, who immediately walks in the ring and puts him in a Dragon Sleeper. Brian Cage is next and hits Nick Wayne with a pump handle driver. Ethan Page is next and he trades elbows with Suzuki. Komander comes in and DDT’s Swerve over the top of Cage. Head scissors and a diving headbutt to Cage. Pump handle powerslam to Komander by Cage. Butcher is next and lays out Page with a lariat. Big Bill is here with a Bossman Slam to everyone. Page evades a Lethal Injection and dumps Jay Lethal out. Lethal grabs Page and Suzuki dumps him from behind. Suzuki and Butcher trade elbows before Suzuki looks for the Gotch Style Piledriver, but gets back body dropped over the top by Butcher and he’s out! Butcher swings Darby into the guardrail on the outside a few times as Blade is out next and joins on the attack. Isiah Kassidy is next and immediately gets cut off by Bill. Toa is out next and he’s running over everyone. Matt Sydal is next as he pairs up with Brother Zay. Bishop Kaun is next as he teams up with Toa Leona and they clean house. Jake Hager is here and he’s not thrilled with Big Bill, as Cage and Bill wind up clotheslining him over the top and to the floor. Quaduple team Shield Bomb to Darby but Darby gets free and dropkicks everyone to the apron. Matt Hardy eliminates Jeff Jarrett from behind. Cage and Shields F1\5 Hardy before throwing him out. Nick Wayne pulls Swerve to the apron with a guillotine but Wayne’s World to Kaun and he’s out. Assisted Sliced Bread to Wayne by Cage and Swerve. Lariat by Cage turns Swerve inside out. Release German suplex by Swerve to Wayne. Double jump by Wayne but Swerve sends him to the floor as Darby eliminates Toa. Swerve kick to the back of Darby’s head. Darby ducks a pump kick and sends Swerve to the apron, but Nana is here with a skateboard to the back. It’s Darby’s so SWERVE POWERBOMBS DARBY ON THE BACK OF THE SKATEBOARD, WHEELLS AND DTRUCKS UPSWARD. Darby still hands on as Swerve misses a stomp. Swerve looks for the brainbuster but Darby gets out and reverse DDT’s Swerve over the top rope. Swerve hangs on but Darby takes him out with a suicide dive for the win!

Winner and NEW NUMBER 1 CONTENDER FOR THE AEW TBS CHAMPIONSHIP: Darby Allin

Rating: ***1/4. AEW has a lot of fun with battle royals, and this was no exception. Lots of smaller side stories involved in the finish so it was easy to keep your interest. Darby vs. Luchasaurus should result in a pretty decent match, too.

Match #2. The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass vs. QTV

Boston does love The Acclaimed, that’s for sure. QT and Billy Gunn to start. Back and forth to start as QT threatens a Diamond Cutter and Gunn attempts the Fameasser but we’re back to square one. Bowens hits a Kitaro Crusher on QT before Gunn clotheslines him outside. Caster hip tosses Solow in the ring but gets drilled with a superkick from Johnny TV behind the referee’s back before we go to commercial break. Back from break and Bowens had gotten the hot tag and cleared the ring with superkicks. Diamond Cutter by QT on Billy Gunn and a diving foot stomp from Solow. One, two, no! Scissor Me, Timbers attempt by QTV but Caster and Bowens break it up. Solow gets caught in the Cobra Clutch slam by Bill, The Arrival by Bowens and the Mic Drop by Caster finish this one.

Winners: The Acclaimed

Rating **. Fine match here with the winners never in doubt. QTV might have a nice little trios team here, too.

Match #3. AEW TBS Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Marina Shafir

Four minutes left in the broadcast and the main event hasn’t started yet? Bold move. Face lock by Statlander by Shafir hits the switch and gets shoulder blocked. Mat return by Statlander but some knees to the stomach by Shafir and a jumping guillotine choke. Push kick by Shafir and some body work in the corner before a picture-perfect hip toss and a back suplex. Two count. Double armbar by Shafir using only her legs, and now a few kicks to the body. Statlander catches a kick to the body and picks her up in an electric chair, before dropping her face-first onto the mat. Running European in the corner and a running boot. Delayed vertical suplex with a float over for two. Friday Night Fever by Statlander but Shafir rolls through into a leg lace but Statlander upkicks her way out of it. Discus lariat by Statlander and Friday Night Fever finish this one.

Winner and STILL AEW TBS Champion: Kris Statlander

Rating: **1/4. I like this match more than I thought I was going to, because it has no reason to be a match. Shafir is just thrown into random situations but you can see she’s getting better in the ring. I know AEW had 55 titles but it’s time to give Statlander something to do.

Final Thoughts: Meh. What’s Royal about Boston? Lost me there. The battle royal was fun, but nothing else on the show meant anything to anyone, so why should it mean something to the viewers? 6/10.
