Backstage Talk on Criticism Over How Charlotte Flair Was Booked Earlier This Year

Fightful Select has reported new details on the creative handling of Charlotte Flair when she worked the WWE NXT brand earlier this year.

It was noted that there were often times where the NXT writing team would come up with creative or plans for Flair when she appeared on their show, but it would often need to get approval from the RAW side first, and the ideas would get shot down.

Original plans had Rhea Ripley winning the WrestleMania 36 match, retaining her NXT Women’s Title. Plans were then changed to Flair winning. There was a big push within NXT to have Bianca Belair added to the feud even sooner than she was, so that Flair could lose the title match without taking the pin.

One person in NXT responded to an inquiry in a pessimistic manner, saying that those involved in the creative of NXT should have known what they were getting into when they booked it.

Flair has been out of action for a few months after taking time off to undergo a minor cosmetic procedure. She’s expected back in time for early 2021 and WrestleMania 37 season.

Stay tuned for more.
