Backstage Update on WWE Superstars Pulled from the Royal Rumble

There were “numerous” names planned for the WWE Royal Rumble Men’s Match that ended up having to be pulled, according to Fightful Select.

Keith Lee and SmackDown Tag Team Champion Robert Roode were scheduled to be in the match as of several weeks ago, but were pulled and unable to compete due to various reasons. Roode’s partner Dolph Ziggler ended up working the match. Montez Ford was also in attendance for the pay-per-view, but was not used as an alternate in the Rumble Match.

Jey Uso was also advertised for the Men’s Rumble but was pulled, and also was not at the previous week’s go-home SmackDown. He did return for this past Friday’s show. It was recently reported by F4Wonline.com that Uso wasn’t cleared to compete at that time.

Stay tuned for more.
