DAILY NEWS WRAP: Shaq Comes To AEW, Sting Is Expected To Wrestle, CM Punk Criticizes WWE For Third-Party Edict and more

Here is our latest edition of Lucha Joe’s Daily News Wrap, which highlights the day’s top stories around the pro-wrestling world. Check out the video below, along with a summary of today’s biggest news items.

-AEW announced this morning that NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will be appearing on tomorrow’s edition of Dynamite on TNT. The Diesel is set to be interviewed by commentator Tony Schiavone, who will also be doing a sit-down with Sting later in the evening.

-Sports Illustrated released a report earlier today revealing that WWE Hall of Famer Sting is expected to step into the ring at some point during his run with AEW. While the Stinger won’t be competing weekly for the promotion the goal is to leverage his star power, and help elevate younger talent.

-CM Punk appeared on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast where he discussed what it would take for him to return to the ring

. The former WWE world champion stated, “It would take above all an interesting scenario. A story that would be fun to tell. Also, just the stupidest amount of money.” He later added, “I think there’s more interesting people on the AEW side of things for me to wrestle, but that’s just because I’ve never wrestled them before – Young Bucks, Kenny Omega.”

-Later Punk would also address WWE’s third-party edict on platforms like Twitch and Cameo, and criticize the company for their handling of star Zelina Vega by comparing her situation with the New Day’s Xavier Woods. He says, “He’s (Woods) big on Twitch. He’s a big video gamer. I don’t know what’s going on with his Twitch channel so I don’t want to speak out of turn on that. I just saw he was petitioning to get a job with G4. Why is it ok for him to do that but Zelina Vega can’t have a Twitch? That was always my thing and people labeled me a complainer or whiny because I would always be the guy that would say, wait, why is so and so able to do this because there was always outside interest, not only from me.”
