Eric Bischoff on Who He Would Push in His Own Promotion

Eric Bischoff recently sat down with TalkSport.com to talk about who he would push if given the chance in his own promotion. Bischoff, like many people before him, says he would choose Dolph Ziggler. He gives him several compliments, including comparing him to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.

“Dolph Ziggler is a phenomenal performer, I’ve said that a million times in a bunch of interviews. Dolph Ziggler is a character, much like Kurt Angle, that can be very comedic and funny, he’s got great comic timing, he doesn’t take himself too seriously, he allows himself to be put in situations, sometimes for comic relief or the benefit of somebody else. Most people would be uncomfortable doing that, and when they do it, because contractually they have to, they don’t really put in 100 per cent of the effort.”

Bischoff credits his appeal to his diversity in roles.

“Dolph Ziggler can play just about any role. On one Monday night, he could be a comedic Kurt Angle, you remember when Kurt Angle was just constantly doing funny, silly stuff? But then if the following Friday night, [SmackDown’s current executive director] Bruce Prichard says to him, ‘Dolph, I need you to be a killer heel. I need you to be the dirtiest, darkest, most dangerous man that ever laced up a pair of boots,’ Dolph Ziggler would also do that with credibility. That’s depth in a character and a talent. And for that reason, I would put Dolph Ziggler on the top of my list.”

We recently reported that Dolph Ziggler likely doesn’t get pushed because he’s too opinionated.
